The Imp was produced between 1963 and 1976 and over half a million were sold. It was a radical departure for Rootes and the first mass produced British car with a rear mounted engine. The car was popular and had success at rallying but sales figures in the early years didn't match expectations. particularly when compared with the Mini. so various badge engineered and more powerful versions were produced. There were also some specials and tuning packages. all detailed on the excellent “imps4ever” website.

This car is a 1966 Hilman Imp Super or “Super Imp” in its original colour of Maroon. It has covered a correct 50. 00 miles from new and there is a comprehensive history to back this up with over 35 old MOT certificates going back to 1969.

This Imp could best be described as a rare survivor – the body. paint and interior trim present well and are best described as very good but not perfect. The last owner paid £5250 for this car in 2014 and spent over spent over £1200 on an engine overhaul a few months later. Comes with MOT until July 2016 with no advisories.
