This is probably the coolest car I've ever been in. Just driving it makes me smile! Turns a lot of heads and is great for surf trips and just cruising around. I get so many people coming up to me and drooling over it whenever I stop anywhere. The back seats fold down flat which makes the perfect amount of space for a mattress in the back. and plenty of room for boards or whatever else you want to bring with you. The rear window is split in half (see photo) so you can hang longboards out the back if you need to whilst enjoying the delightful purr of the motor with accompanying exhaust fumes - a true old-school driving experience! When you pull up. you can fold the tailgate down creating the perfect bench to put your wetsuit on. enjoy a beer. or just hang out taking in your new surroundings whilst other people walk past wishing they were you.
Details are:Strong 179 red motor"3 on the tree" column shift manualJust had new brake shoes fitted and cylinders replaced so the brakes are great. Also had the kingpins reconditioned. The car rides really nicely with no real body roll. Sits beautifully on the road!Sought-after Jellybean magsHave just had it painted in the original beige colour so it looks greatComes with original service booklet and original engine. The car has just been serviced and is in roadworthy condition. Comes with safety certificate. Currently registered until September 2015Issues I can think of:The only rust I can find is a couple of tiny spots on the window sills in the doors and the bottom of the little rotating window frame in the left hand side door has a small section of rust. Could use some new window sill rubbersFront seat has a couple of tears on it which are taped upThe EH Holden is such an iconic car in Australian history and they are starting to really appreciate in value. Hi .. I wish I could purchase this car but I can't.
I'm messaging because this is the exact colour and style of my first car which I drove in 1987.
I'm wondering if you have time if you could send a photo, or write down the information, from the identification plate as to the paint colour code.
I have a feeling it is Windorah Beige (code number 5091) but I am not certain.
The ad says you are in inner north Brisbane - I live in Banyo and I do see a car like this one in the area ... maybe it is you?
Anyway thanks for any info you can give.
