SUNBEAM RAPIER 3A - BEAUTIFUL CAR WITH OVERDRIVE for sale

The Sunbeam Rapier was launched in 1955 and seven different series were produced over its 21 year run. It quickly became the front line car of the Rootes competition department and enjoyed success on the rally scene and as a racing saloon.

This car is a 1963 series 3a Rapier. It is in beautiful condition and has benefited from much recent improvement including a body renovation and interior work including new carpets and re-trimmed seats. The mileage reading is just 57. 00 which may well be correct - the oldest from 1983 shows 44. 00 miles. On the road this Rapier drives just as well as it looks with strong oil pressure and the overdrive gearbox performs as it should.

All of the Rapier models have become rare and the 3a is perhaps the most sought after. This one is in superb order and offers excellent value. particularly when compared with other British sporting salons from the sixties. It is also very useable and great to drive – as an overdrive car it is also capable of covering motorway miles with ease.
