The Dodge A 100 van model range was manufactured and marketed in
the United States from 1964 to 1970 by the Chrysler Corporation. The
A 100 originally competed with the Ford Econoline and Chevrolet Van
as well as the Volkswagen Type 2. The range included a pick-up
truck and panel van. both with a 'forward control' design internationally known as a 'cab over' vehicle. which had the
implementation of a 'flat-faced' cab situating the driver and
passenger on top of the front axle and engine. The A 100 vehicles
used a short. 90" wheelbase. An A 108 was then available from 1967. br/>with a longer 108" wheelbase. This new A 108 was especially popular
with camper conversion companies.
This rare. three owner. 1969 Dodge A 108 Window Van is fitted
with a 318 ci (5200 cc) V 8 engine and a heavy duty version of the
A 727 Torqueflite three-speed gearbox. When imported to the UK by
the vendor in 2004 from West Virginia. the vehicle was in original
condition and had only covered 50. 00 miles. He then set about an
entire rebuild. dismantling the van completely and then having it
properly painted before re-assembling it. The A 108 is fitted with
double doors to the rear and side. with a swing out step. single
row of rear seats and plenty of room for everything else! Finished
in white and gold. with a combination of black and white interior. br/>this shining example is supplied with a V 5 c registration document. br/>an Mo T test certificate which expires in February 2016 and a file
containing US title certificate. owner's manuals. warranty books. br/>brochures and other documentation. The vendor is also including a
few spare parts. These vans are rare in Europe there are a handful
around but none as original as this or in this condition. It has a
number of potential uses as a company promotional vehicle. for
exhibition work or with its V 8 engine. a fabulous race team
transporter or tow vehicle.
