Cadillac : DeVille Sedan de Ville

I love this car. but may sell it due to difficult circumstances.

It drives beautifully and I use it about once a week. if the weather is good.

The engine purrs. the transmission shifts exactly as it should. it has a new proper exhaust system with no resonators and the exhaust exits through the bumpers as it should.

I had the treadle-vac rebuilt as well as the carburetor.

I had the wipers changed to electric.

I had pertronix parts put in.

The clock is now quartz.

The radio is super.

All four windows work perfectly and the power seat goes back and forth but the other four directions are not always working. I think it could be cleaned up and fixed because it sometimes works.

The temperature gauge does not work.

I have just about no history on this car.

I believe it was restored. as needed. some time ago and then it just sat.

I do not know the correct mileage.

It reads around 56. 00 but 156. 00 is probably more reasonable.

But the car is so beautiful it is hard to know for sure.

The paint is super shiny and beautiful but not perfect.

There are some places where it has been polished too much. and in strong direct sunlight you can see some places where it has been touched up. perhaps a good professional detailing would correct that. but it is barely noticeable.

The chrome and trim pieces range from excellent to very good.

I think the back bumper has been rechromed. Some of the pot metal pieces are bumpy. but still shiny.

The exhaust ports are great.

The heater works great. defogger too! No AC.

The carpets seem new. as does the fabric on the upholstery.

The leather on the upholstery looks great but I think it might be original.

I watch the 56 Cadillacs on Ebay all the time and I have seldom seen another car that comes close to this one.

If you are like me and like to actually use your beautiful cars. it is perfect for you. It does not rattle or squeak.

It is a solid car. powerful. smooth. dependable car.

I found a steering gear/box for this car and right now this extra gear is being professionally rebuilt.

I am planning to have it installed on the car when it is ready.

The gear on the car right now is OK. but I have been told that there is no adjustment left in it.

The bias ply tires have lots of tread left on them.

The brakes are good and work great.
