i purchased this car at a local estate auction about 4 months ago. it was licensed and driven by the original owner until 2012. from my understanding shes an elderly lady and was getting too old to drive and moved to a retirement home. this is a ONE OWNER car! she purchased this car brand new on 5/31/1962 from Knipp Motors Oldsmobile Cadillac in Jefferson City. Missouri. the car shows 15. 00 miles on the odometer. but there is no way for me to verify the accuracy from the records i have. from the condition is does NOT appear to be 115. 00. but that is my personal opinion. i do know she lived in the area within 30 miles her entire life and the car was in its garage when i picked it up.
the car is completely rust free other than its had a small patch(size of your palm) repaired under drivers feet with sheet metal and pop rivets. its very complete and all original. its unrestored. but has had a repaint or touched up at some point. it appears to be a lacquer paint job and i'm unsure whether the entire car was repainted or if just certain areas were blended and touched up. but you can see the blended areas. it doesn't look bad. but where its blended its not as shiny. lacquer never did blend well and over time the blended area is noticeable and that's whats happened in a few spots. the car starts. runs and drives great. drive home anywhere. not a show car. but very respectable driver. weekend cruiser. drive this one to the car show! a true time capsule!
the heater controls are a little stiff. i'm sure its the cables. the heater blower does work as well as the radio. the tires are decent and doesnt appear to have any dry rot or cracks. the engine purrs like a kitten and has no excessive smoking or noises. the transmission shifts smooth as it should. i have not verified that the engine and transmission are true to the car. but i can almost assure they are. nothing looks changed or out of place or to have been replaced.
I drove it for a few weeks back and forth to work and got tons of thumbs ups!  I did send off the old title. but kept a copy of it. I've never seen a title that old and didn't want any problems when/if I sell it. I have a clear. updated Missouri title in my name that matches the vin# on the car. No surprises here! i do have the original protection plates and owners manual. original purchase order and cash receipt from purchase. there is some OLD spare parts in a box in the trunk that came with the car. few oil filters. spark plugs. light bulbs. fuses as well as other various things.

if you have any questions or would like additional pictures of certain areas of the car feel free to contact me through ebay messaging. i'm offering free pickup. i will not ship the car. but i will work with a buyer to arrange shipping. i can also deliver to buyer or shipper within 300 miles for an average delivery fee. contact me to discuss details.

its been brought to my attention that my car is NOT the 185hp. my apologies for the confusion as NADA only had one option for the 215 engine rating it at 185hp. whether it is or is not i have adjusted the values accordingly. taking out the 215cu V8 option. my car does have the 215cu V8. but i was told it was 145hp. the options below rate the standard 215cu at 155hp. so be your own judge.  updated values:                                              Low Retail               Average Retail                         High RetailBase Price                             $4. 25                               $9. 50                                 $17. 00 Options: (change)Hydramatic Transmission       10%                                   10%                                       10%TOTAL PRICE:                                   $4. 47                            $10. 05                                       $19. 90

I know this may be a dumb question but...
driving at a reasonable speed back to California...
would I expect to have any issues?

Mike
