Pontiac : GTO SEE WRITE UP

1967 PONTIAC GTO 4 SPEED #'S MATCHING

Clean title. frame-off restoration started- needs to be finished.   Frame is ready to be painted & put back together.   All body panels and inner fenders are finished - ready for skimcoat. blocksand. primer- rust free-attic stored. very solid body cab alone has not been started on-will need front floor pans. rear 1/4 's and tail gate- must call me for specific details  RE:cab.    828-329-5018.   Motor is original and intact-unmolested. never re-built- original crank. cam. pistons. oil p an. valve train. all still in place ( heads are off) matching correct heads suggest factory warranty replacement (cast dates 7 months after car build left and right same)  missing from motor is intake and front cover assay (timing) missing from car is bell housing and transmission. radiator and core support and driveshaft.   Rear-end assay is finished and ready for paint-complete wiring harness w/plugs is all intact and all good-seat frames and tracks are all blasted and painted - all properly dated parts to finish motor are available locally-car color is Tyrol blue outside/dark blue inside (whole car sans trans assay). a question was asked concerning the photos of a lemans cab and of the gto vin plates. the answer given was that this was a whole gto when I got it but as a barn find it was parked dirty. and the cab was too far gone so a solid lemans cab is being used as a donor cab. the vin is on the frame. plates and title. everything is done and ready to be finished except for the donor cab.

Printed and distributed engineering specs for motor. chassis. etc. . during 3rd week of August 1966. re-tooled the plant for the upcoming model year during 4th week of August 1966. this car was built during the 2nd week of September 1966. original invoice date 9/22/66.

The 67 GTO was introduced September 14th 1966-PMD made it available f or sale to the public for the 67 model year line-up September 29. 1966.   The last 6 of the VIN number always starts with 100000. with every 100001 being the first built.   On the Tempest/LeMans/Sprint/Safari/GTO assembly line. 426. 08 were produced.   This car was the 6680th.   Possibly the first GTO. surely the oldest existing 67 GTO 4 speed and was quite likely build as a program car for introduction purposes.    The car was originally delivered to a Pontiac dealership in Western North Carolina in September 1966 and is still here in Western North Carolina.   The car was a barn find with original paint with 83k on the odometer.   The vin #'s on parts did not appear until mid-year 67 -this car has to rely on casting dates and p/n's-vin does appear on frame-proper casting dates on this car are unavailable. giving it's early build date vs. plant re-tooling date.  

NEW PARTS

include but not limited to-fuel tank. fuel lines. complete 4WDB conversion kit. brake lines- front and rear coil springs-all body mounts. motor mounts . all chassis and suspension rubbers and components . all body bolts-complete interior screw kit. new interior arm rests w/pads. hood & trunk latches. alternator. quadra-jet (wrong one). quick ratio power steering unit (car did not come w/ps) . labels and stickers for all components (as would be when built new). newly manufactured traction bars (drag pac). car came to me with PMD original traction bars as identified in an old original parts counter catalogue for the 66 426 Catalina 2+2 factory drag pac.

Include but not limited to L & R doors (good) intact and mounted on donor cab w/ side glass. tracks. trim. hinges. deck lid. fan shroud. T-3 headlamps. 5 blade clutch fan. 15x7 Rally II Wheels. original front fenders with factory paint and factory painted pinstripes.   67  extra whole rolling chassis with donor lemans cab & front half of gto rear 1/4's. spare non-a/c dash.
