Toyota Land Cruiser (J40) Factory Specs and History

The Toyota J40 is the model designation for a Toyota Land Cruiser 40 series made from 1960 until 1984 (in Brazil. where it was known as the Toyota Bandeirante. it was made from 1958 until 2001). Most 40 series Land Cruisers were built as two-door vehicles with slightly larger dimensions than a Jeep CJ.
The model was available as the FJ40 series (with F engines) and also BJ40/41/42 (short wheelbase). BJ43/44/46 (middle wheelbase) or HJ45/47 (long wheelbase) designation where it had a Diesel engine. The Land Cruisers built in Brazil from 1958 to 1962 received the series code FJ25 (topless) and FJ25L (soft top) but are often referred to as FJ-251. and in 1961 thanks to a new motor called 2F - not to be confounded with the later 2F engine from 1975 - there still came out some few units with the series code FJ-151L (soft top). With the model name changed to Bandeirante after 1961. those built from 1962 to 1993 - with Mercedes-Benz engines - received OJ50/55 series and those built from 1994 to 2001 - with Toyota engines - BJ50/55 series model codes.

The J40/41/42 was a two-door short wheelbase four-wheel-drive vehicle. with either a soft or a hardtop . It was available with various petrol or diesel (from 1974) engines over its lifetime. It was replaced on most markets from 1984 by the J70 series (70/71).

All vehicles remain available for sale until full payment or agreed upon deposit is received by Celebrity Cars Las Vegas When a deposit is received . the vehicle is taken off the market and other buyers may be lost. Deposits are generally only accepted if the seller deems it appropriate for the buyer to have additional time to arrange for funds availability. financing. inspection etc. We do not accept deposits to hold a car so the buyer can "think about it".

ADDITIONAL TAXES AND FEES:

We do charge a $395. 00 documentation fee on each retail sale which includes a temporary tag when applicable. motor vehicle documents and transfers and miscellaneous expenses including clerical fees. notary fees and Federal Express and US mail charges. This documentation fee also includes profit to the dealership. This fee will not be discounted or waived under any circumstance. Buyers are responsible for all state. county and local taxes and fees as well as any registration and title fees applicable in and required by the state in which the buyer will register and title the vehicle. Buyer is responsible for any expenses . tax and fees should they export the car outside of the US. In the event of an out of state sale the buyer is responsible for consulting with their state's DMV regarding the requirements for acquiring a temporary driving permit. Nevada law only allows for us to provide a 15 day drive away permit for out of state residents who physically pickup their vehicle. Vehicles shipped out of state will not be provided with a drive away permit.

Celebrity Cars Las Vegas will be happy to assist buyer with transportation arrangements within the US borders when necessary to take advantage of our volume discounts. The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and are generally paid COD when the car arrives directly to the transporter.
