This is a 1958 Corvette that needs restoration.  The body is in good shape. the frame is solid.  All the bumper chrome is straight and solid. the door post and windshield post chrome is diver quality. but not all pitted like most original Corvette chrome.  It has a non-matching 283 with Muncie 4-speed.  Both are in good condition. but I never got the car running.  Brake wheel cylinders. master cylinder. and lines are new.  This car was originally silver blue from the factory. then red. then purple. and then Nassau blue.  There has been minor damage to the left side of the car in the long-distant past.  One picture shows just behind the left front wheelwell. where there are screws holding a reinforcement piece behind the fiberglass.  Otherwise the body seems in good shape.  New side spears and new side emblems are included.  The original hood is on the car. but the hood scoop has been added to it.  The trunk spears are missing.  There are 4 15" non-original wheels. with 4 original hubcaps.  The front license assembly is included but not pictured. The original dash pad. steering wheel.  and door panels are still in the car.  They were originally the 1958 blue. but have been dyed black.  The seats are 1961-1962 Corvette black seats. and need recovered.  The original tachometer is included. but not installed--all the other gauges are the originals.  The soft top frame is solid and straight.  A new white fabric for the top is included.  The windshield is cracked. but a new tinted windshield is a part of the deal.  I have the history of the  car back to 1969.  It has not run since 1973.  The owner who bought it in 1972 bent a rod. pulled the motor out. and the car sat since.  I first saw the car in 1974.  My intent was to restore the car. but I have run out of energy. and have some other projects farther along that I need to finish.  The frame is solid. but has some typical Wisconsin scale on it.  It is very usable. straight. and solid. but not show-car pretty by any means.  The kick-ups are very solid where the rust usually happens.  This is a reasonably complete car--it is missing jack and handle. spare tire and rim. trunk plywood. some ignition shielding. original seat belts. original radio and antenna. and outboard grille teeth. The reserve on the car is very reasonable for what project 58's normally go for.  I don't need to get rich off this car. I just need to get out of it okay. and create some room. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer--I will cooperate to the best of my ability. I live about an hour and 15 minutes north of Chicago's O'Hare airport.   I have a clear title.  I would appreciate a $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours.  The car must  be paid for by wire transfer or cash before the car or title will be released. I've been in the Corvette hobby for 40 years. and am being as honest and straightforward about the car as I can be.  I'm not playing games with you. and I would appreciate it that you would not play games with me.
