1974 Ferrari 365 Daytona Spider by E G Autokraft for sale
Current customer rating: (464 votes ) based onThe Ferrari 365 Daytona Spider by E G Autokraft is without
question the most accurate replica of the marque. Dimensions are
exact and allow genuine Ferrari parts to be used if required but
most used Jaguar V12 engines and running gear. a very rare few used
a genuine Ferrari as the donna vehicle. These cars were built
by E. G. Autokraft. PKA and Arrow which was the work of Emilio
Garcia and Peter Jacobs. Emilio had been turning Ferrari 365
Berlinetta Daytona's into spiders for years so it was a logical
step for him to engineer a replica. He turned to Peter Jacobs to
make the bodies; Peter was the man who built the bodies for the
RS200 Ford rally car and the GTD a very well made Ford GT 40
replica. The E. G bodies were Kevlar reinforced composite and could
even be had in aluminium at extra cost. Uniquely they also built a
copy of the Daytona Berlinetta's too and sold around seven in all.
Ironically the rareity in the original Ferrari 365 Daytona was in
that only seven right hand drive spiders were built. but the
rareity in the Arrow replicas is there are only seven known coupes!
The kits were around £20. 00 plus the donor to be built and Emilio
would build one for £25. 00 for those who wished a built one. There
is a thriving owners club with members around Europe and in the
USA. which has helped many of them to complete and improve their
cars.
This is one of the very rare Daytona Spiders by E G Autokraft
which is based and is registered on a 1974 Ferrari 365 2+2 Coupé. br/>keeping the original matching chassis and engine numbers with a
manual gearbox. Looking at the car it is an exact copy using the
wheels. lights and instruments (other than the amp meter) from the
donor Ferrari 365. Believed to have been built in the 1980's this
Daytona Spider is in excellent condition throughout having only
completed a very limited mileage since being built as a Daytona
recreation. finished in Sera blue with light blue leather interior
this ferrari is supplied with a V5C registration document and a MoT
test certificate which expires in November 2015. With the original
1970's Ferrari Daytona Spider having a value in the millions of
Dollars. this Daytona Spider recreation looks. sounds and drives
the same at a fraction of the cost. a real head turner that people
will think it is a real one!
