For your consideration, I have a 1962 Corvette with 5,730 ODO miles. It has a white exterior with red interior. I'm the second owner and bought it 2 years and 8 months ago from the original owner's family in Ashville, N.C. with just 5,640 miles on the odometer. It was in that family for 57 years since purchased brand new in 1962 by a family member that was an engineer in the Corvette design team at GM. It has always been garaged since new and now has 5,730 miles on the ODO so as you can see, I have only put 90 miles on it since I purchased it. The car comes with records of maintenance in the past 59 years, some maintenance parts, a spare tire, and an extra carburetor. The original car came with a Powerglide transmission so the engineer owner swapped it for a 4-speed manual, much better suited for this kind of sports car. By the way, the Powerglide transmission is available from the previous owner for a fee. The engine and body numbers don't match. Like everyone else would, I asked the previous owner who inherited it from his uncle, the engineer and first owner since new, the following questions before buying it in January, 2019: why such low miles and why the motor swap in 1967? He told me he didn't know, since his uncle passed away, but the very good condition of the car will justify the low miles. As for the motor swap, he also did not know. I'm sure most mechanically educated inspectors can tell the difference between a car with 50,000 miles and one with 5,730 miles, and a car that went past an ODO and turned 99,999, with 105,730 miles and one with 5,730 miles, especially after 59 years. I will not make any guarantee of the mileage reading since I bought the car with the low reading in 2019 except that the MiamiDade Police Dept. went to my house to inspect the vehicle and verify the mileage in order to note the odometer reading on the title. I like to be as honest, straightforward, and transparent as possible so there are no surprises to the winning bidder or anyone else showing interest during and after the auction. It includes a manual 4-speed Borg Warner transmission, and the 1967 327 cubic inch motor with a single four-barrel carburetor. It has a new convertible top but no hard top. The paint is original and in very good state considering its age. Naturally, there are imperfections with typical chicken feet in corners of the front end (see photo). Even garaged, this will occur with paint this old. The Wunderbar AM radio has very bad reception and the windshield wiper turned on by itself a few months ago so I disconnected it. I never drive the car anyway except for once a month on a sunny day around the block. In two weeks from now, whether I get a winning buyer or not, I have scheduled an appointment to take it to a Corvette specialist to perform a thorough tune-up, check for oil leaks, check brakes, regain the AM radio reception, and correct the windshield wiper issue, no matter the cost. Should the winning bidder choose to pick up the car just the way it is, that's his choice, but I prefer to deliver the car in 100% working order. If you contact me through Ebay, I can recommend ways that you can receive a video I took of the Corvette that is worth 1000 photos.
