Lightly Customized. 1981 VW "Caddy" Diesel Pickup.
This has been about an 8 month project. Though I've owned it for 8 yrs.
Has undergone a complete interior & exterior cosmetic restoration.
Mechanical:
Engine & Drive train are tight and it runs &
drives very well.
Brakes are good.
Has new front axles & CV joints Shift linkage could be tighter. comes with a new
short shift linkage kit. not installed
Exterior:
The body was in very good condition before I started. No rust anywhere.

New Lettering on Tailgate

15" Painted Alloy Wheels. Good Tires in Front. Rears should be replaced

It has the usual very minor dents.
·
Rear tires have a good tread but are showing some checking in the sidewalls.
·
Fronts are about 75%
·
Fuel gauge does not work. but it gets 45 mpg. with a 15 gal. tank. it will do 675 miles
·
Instrument cluster was replaced by PO. mileage is unknown. Speedo & Odometer work
This is an excellent example of an increasingly rare vehicle. Runs & Drives well.
Attracts attention where ever I go. It's been a fun project. but it's time for me to move on. Selling to fund my next project.
