1976 Stingray
1976 Corvette Stingray with original engine and close ratio 4 speed transmission!
This is a 1976 corvette stingray with original engine and close ratio 4 speed transmission! Only about 2000 of this model were made with 4 speed close ratio and even less with the l 48 engine. odometer shows 14500 however it has not worked since my ownership
The l 48 engine had less hp at high revs but had over 25 more feet pounds of torque at 1000 rpm less than the l 82 engine. The l 48 engine was actually preferred by car and driver on a
road test.
The car is white on tan and garage kept in cover.
Interior is in decent shape shows some sighns of age. Exterior is straight and paint is still shiny however a few spider web cracks and flicking due to age.
New tires less than 5000 miles on them new gas tank that rids this car pesky rubber bladder.
Transmission had the flywheel refinished and clutch and bearings redone overall very expensive job but my loss your gain.
Headlights work come up slowly because original vacuum pump tech.
Original Luggage rack. Power windows and lower steering rare options on Manuel corvette in this year. Has new spark plugs and coils bosh and ac Delco double platinum.
Factory ac still blows but not as hard as modern ac. but it still works. Probably needs floor pans on driver and passenger but Those are inexpensive 400 dollars i had
quoted. handbrake is disconnected at the moment but can be reconnected.
Car has under 2 k mileage on trans rebuild and still has warranty on trans. and speedo and rpm gauge work and are original. Everything is original except battery and spark plugs stuff that need to be changed i. e. oil tires battery ext. This thing is a beast but I have to let it go.
also comes with new carpet i do not have the time or energy to install it anymore.
