An unrestored original big Healey in Great Condition. for sale
Current customer rating:
If you're interested in a real piece of Austin Healey history. this car is it. An original unrestored big Healey in superior condition. This includes the original top. tonneau. boot and interior. all in excellent condition. The paint is the original black lacquer as applied at the factory when it was manufactured in March of 1963. A minor reconditioning was performed in at 40. 11 miles that included new brakes. clutch and fuel tank. In addition the engine was cleaned and detailed. (I have all of the records) Dayton 60 spoke wire wheels and Michelin tires were also installed at that time. The car's original painted wire wheels which are in fine condition are also included. All glass is original Triplex and intact. The carpets are new because the originals had simply dried out. Instruments all working. The radiator was upgraded in 2011 to a high efficiency aluminum unit with a Hayden fan. (I have the original radiator. It's in good condition and is included in price. ) This upgrade provides much lower engine temperatures in hot weather driving. A real plus for the driver and passenger. The transmission works smoothly as does the electric overdrive. (Overdrive solenoid replaced in June. 2013. It was the original solenoid. ) There have been 3 owners of this car since 1963. I'm the 3 rd and have owned it for more than 4 years. It has always been garaged and is never driven in bad weather. The previous owners did the same. so as a result. the car is rust free. The bottom of the car looks almost as good as it did when new. (see photos) There have been no repairs done for accidents or rust. Engine runs smooth and strong. Oil pressure is around 60 psi at startup and remains in the high 40's to 50 psi when warmed up and running. Never had to add oil between changes. It's a strong driver and runs as beautifully as it shows. I have all of the documents and bills from the reconditioning as well as the upgrades and repairs that have been done since I took ownership. I also have the Heritage Certificate certifying the car's engine. transmission and other numbers attesting to the car's originality. If you're interested in owning a true piece of Healey history. this is the car for you. Nothing to be done. Get in it. drive it. show it and enjoy it!
