Some history on the car: 

A great sports car with meticulous maintenance documentation with the 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo you see before you.  

British car manufacturer Lotus made the Esprit from 1976-2004 with a future release set in 2014.

In 1987. the Esprit underwent a redesign by Peter Stevens for its fourth generation. It was often known by its project code of X180.   A new Lotus patented process was introduced to create the new body called the VARI (Vacuum Assisted Resin Injection) process which offered more advantages than the previous hand-laid process. Kevlar reinforcement was added to the roof and sides for roll-over protection.  

The Stevens styled cars retained the mechanical components of the previous high compression Esprit and turbo Esprit but introduced a stronger Renault transaxle. The exterior style changes were accompanied by a redesign of the interior allowing more room for the driver and passengers.

The black exterior paint shows well. and the original saddle leather interior shows some slight wear from usage but it does not take away from the drivability of the car.  And with some time. the leather can be returned to near new condition. if not new.
