THE CAR:

About 9 years ago an elderly gentleman in Florida had his rust free car restored (frame on).

Engine. transmission. rear end. paint. frame. suspension. interior. chrome and added Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels all were done at that time.

312 V-8. automatic. power steering and power brakes.

Aftermarket radio. the clock does not work.

This was a hardtop only car.

He than wanted a convertible top.

He purchased a completely new top frame and had a black Hertz canvas top installed.

(Hard top is gone) There are no scratches. dents or rust on the body.

There is some minor touch up paint in the areas where the headlight and tail light housings meet the fenders.

He had some serious health problems and wound up in an assisted living setting.

His POA (Power of Attorney) sold the car on his behalf to Lash Auto Sales in Lakeland. FL.

I had a successful Liver Transplant a few years ago and decided I wanted to buy a summer driver car.

I am NOT a mechanic so I needed to buy a restored car. or one that I would not need to work on.

This car fit our criteria.

I had never driven or been in a 1957 Thunderbird.

My research led me to have one concern. the 17” steering wheel. I weigh 240 and my stomach is extended due to scar tissue from the surgery.

I had the car shipped to my mechanic. in St. Louis. MO.

He went over the car. found no problems. and installed a 13” steering wheel.

I flew to St. Louis and drove the car to Chicago (350) miles. no problems. It started. stopped and drove great.

When the restoration was done they installed new bias-belted tires.

As soon as I got home I had new steel-belted tires installed.

After driving it awhile I noticed that it started pulling to the right.

Before I could get it looked it I fell off a ladder and shattered my hip.

I had surgery to replace the hip. spent five weeks in the hospital and rehab center. I'm still doing Physical Therapy.

I now find I cannot fold or bend to get in or out of the car.

I'm in my 70's and don't think things are going to get much better. That's why I'm selling this car.

Look at the pictures. this is a very nice driver quality car.
