THIS MUSTANG WASDRIVEN BY NICOLAS CAGE AT BONDURANTS RACE TRACK IN PREPARATION FOR DRIVING ELEANOR FROM THE MOVIE GONE IN 60 SECONDS ! THIS CAR IS HISTORIC AND TRULY A ONE-OF-A-KIND

 

This car is car is fully documented with notarized letters from the following well-known people; Terry Buch – prior owner of Total Control Products located in Elk Grove. CA. This Mustang was built by TCP (Total Control Products). This Mustang was built prior to Eleanor and was way ahead of its time with fiberglass body modifications and mechanical engineering. Terry designed all the steering and suspension for Eleanor in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. The car also used TCP tower brace and foot pedal covers which were seen multiple times in the movie.

 

Terry Buch was hired by Cinema Vehicle Services to trailer this Mustang from California to Bob Bondurant’s race track so he could present the cars features and teach Nicolas Cage and the stunt drivers to drive it.

 

After the movie TCP was the only distributor of Eleanor body kits that were built by Cinema Vehicle Services which eventually led to also building the first Eleanor for Unique Performance! This mustang was also featured in Mustang Illustrated in April of 2000 as the Testbed Terror. This Mustang was used to get the stunt drivers and also the leading actor Nicolas Cage better acquainted with the cars set up. The Magazine and Article are included in the pictures below.  

 

Bob Bondurant- owner of Bondurants Race Track and School of High Performance Driving located in Phoenix. AZ. Bob is a world famous race car driver who was very friendly with Carroll Shelby. He has tons of racing history and is very well respected. He and his crew have taught many people how to drive at his race track. His letter states. Nicolas Cage was present and trained at my High Performance Driving School in 1999 for the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds”. He was provided a black 1965 Ford Mustang to drive”. It is listed on multiple websites that Nicolas Cage was present at Bondurants race track as well. I have a picture of the letter below!

 

 

Mike McGovern- a veteran expert driver at Bondurants Race Track and school of High Performance Driving located in Phoenix. AZ. His letter states. “ Back in 1999 I had the pleasure of working with Nicolas Cage and his student double as they prepared for the movie. “Gone in 60 Seconds”. One of the vehicles used in that training was Terry Buch’s beautiful black 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. I had an opportunity to drive this great-looking Mustang. and the all-around performance exceeded my expectations!” I have the picture of the letter below!
