1964 Cadillac DeVille Base Hardtop 2-Door 7.0L

Low Reserve.  For sale is a dependable 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille that is a turn key driver for the summer.  If you want a classic car with style that is an instant head turner. and don't want to restore one;  than this is for you.  This is a solid California car.  This odometer reads 85. 61 miles. although not documented; judging from the condition of the interior and how smooth the engine runs/drives. this could well be original mileage.  The power plant is a 429 cu. in. engine that boosts a luxurious 340 factory horse power.  The engine is original . but has a brand new 500 cfm Edelbrock Quadra Jet carb. . spark plug wires. spark plugs. distributor cap/rotor. fuel filter. chrome air cleaner. oil & filter. along with a battery with power cut-off switch.  The engine does not leak. tick or smoke.  The timing has been retarded a few degrees to burn our lower octane pump gas currently used. which is less than the factory recommended 100 octane.  The valves have been hardened to burn with unleaded fuel.  This engine runs like a top.  At idle or stops. you can barely feel the car is on.  Note that the car's air/fuel mixture is adjusted to 94 ft. above sea level.  Once you get the car to your altitude. adjust the carb.  accordingly to achieve that nice smooth idle.  The coolant flows and stays green in this radiator. as I have been driving this car for the last couple of months in hot weather and it has never heated up on me.  The engine breathes free with a completely new true dual exhaust system that features 2" aluminized pipes and 15" glass packs that gives this car a mild classic rumble.  The transmission is a Turbo 400 that shifts smooth and is one of the most reliable trans. in the automotive world.  The trans. fluid has recently been serviced along with the filter.  The rear end is stock that is sealed with no leaks.  Power boosted totally rebuilt 4-wheel drum brakes stops this classic very well.  Which is a necessity in today's fast pace driving.  If done correctly. the drum brake is preferred type of braking system for heavier vehicles.  The wheel cylinders. brake hoses. complete front hard lines. and brake shoes have been replaced with new factory parts.  The brake drums where machined/surfaced to optimize braking capabilities.  I can come to an emergency stop going 40 miles per hour. within 15 ft. in a straight line and no lock up.  Power Steering is a must on these cars and this unit is working great with no leaks.  The alignment is true with a straight steering wheel.  The suspension floats without being spongy just the way a full size luxury should be.  This Cadillac has a new professional paint job from earlier this year and has been waxed weekly from day one. which compliments it's very glossy finish.  There is no orange peel on this car as it was color sanded and buffed to a smooth surface.  It is kept inside and out of the elements.  The body is dent. scratch and ding free and is always getting attention.  The paint color on this car is GM Bright White (original color) that came out great on this straight body.  The trim and chrome are all there and in good condition.  The glass is all in great condition except for the windshield which has a slight crack. I have found brand new/used windshields from the Internet ranging from $150-$350.  The interior is in great condition featuring great trim and no rips.  All (4) seat belts are new and color correct.  The head liner is bright. tight and in great shape.  The seats have been recently upholstered in aftermarket seat covers that match perfectly.  The dash pad has great original color and is in perfect condition.  Door panels are also in great condition.  The carpet is all there but is faded.  The gauges and electrical are in working condition.  This particular Cadillac has the rare optional AM/FM factory radio. that works like it did 50 years ago.  Imagine being able to tune into your favorite radio station right away what ever it is without having to put in a new system.  There are no aftermarket hack jobs on the wiring.  The power antenna works off of the original radio knob switch.  Factory wiring and vacuum lines are in tact and correct.  The horn is functional and loud.  New headlights and rear bulbs make this car shine bright in the dark as all signal lights and functions work. including the white reverse backup lights. The power windows are aligned and greased making them fast as ever. even with the car not running.  Window/Door weatherstrip is in good condition.  The door and trunk locks are all functional with the original (2) keys.  The windshield wipers are new and work great.  The vacuum operated parking/emergency brake works every time (actually stops the vehicle from rolling and it releases itself automatically when you shift into reverse or drive).  All the dome lights work as you open the doors or off of the headlight switch.  Even the rear passenger courtesy seat switch works. which can have the rear dome lights turn off separately.  Also working is the front/rear cig. lighters or as most people need them for these days. 12v outputs (charge 3 cell phone at once).  The trunk jamb is painted nice with a new rubber seal.  The trunk sheet metal is all there with no rust holes.  The original bumper jack. tire iron and spare make this an emergency must.  The factory wheels still have the original hubcaps that look great and are surrounded by Denman Classics L78-15's with 4" whitewalls including a matching spare.  This gives it a true classic luxury style that gets compliments from on-lookers everywhere it goes.  All the hard work is done on this one. just put your personal touches on to make this iconic classic your own.  This car starts and drives nice every time. making this a truly reliable classic.  Registration is current with no back fees.  I have the pink slip in hand and I am the only owner on the title.  VIN/Title/Engine make this a numbers matching vehicle.  This car has made my family some good memories. but I have 3 other cars that I have to store making it hard to keep them all.  This sale is an "as is" agreement.  I know what this car is worth and I would appreciate no low ball offers on this sale.
