1972 RARE AMC JEEP CJ5 CJ-5 RENEGADE 5.0 304 V8 4X4 T-15 DANA 44 LIMITED SLIP
Sale price: $10,000.00 Make an offer
Car location: United States
Seller's notes: "Very nice old Barn find, runs and drives great, Body recently painted white which looked like the factory color, paint job is nothing special but still looks good. Jeep is incredible and has some tasteful upgrades in the engine compartment. Check out all my photo and videos to find out exactly how neat this Jeep really is. Driver seat has a tear in it, Jeep odometer states 13315 but I highly doubt that is accurate, who knows. Dash has hole cut for stereo and speaker but no longer installed. Jeep is as you see it in the photos and videos."

1972 RARE AMC JEEP CJ5 CJ-5 RENEGADE 5.0 304 V8 4X4 T-15 DANA 44 LIMITED SLIP for sale
Current customer rating:

1972 JEEP CJ 5 RENEGADE PKG W/ RECENTLY REBUILT 304 V 8 5. 0 LITER ENGINE DANA 44 REAR AXLE W/ LIMITED SLIP DIFF
Condition: Alright lets start with probably the most important info followed by what makes this a neat Jeep CJ 5. I have a clean title in hand. This Jeep starts right up. the battery is old and I will replace before the new owner picks it up. It not only fires right up with little to no use of the choke but it drives amazing considering the age of it. the odometer shows 13 K but highly doubt that is accurate and can only assume it has been rolled over a few times. With that said I know the motor was rebuilt a few years back. this was picked up a an estate sale of a NASA employee after he passed away several months ago. When he had the motor done. they upgraded the carburetor to a Edelbrock carb with a high rise intake manifold as you will see in the photos and videos. It has virtually no rust on it and if any at all. very little body filler. There is one body bushing I noticed when I had it on my lift. on the driver side that could use some replacement metal but that's about it. The tub floors are solid. if this was not such a rare old CJ 5 I would have really enjoyed parting the tub out and selling it alone because of how high in demand these parts alone are but it was to clean. ran to well and drove to nice. This is not to be mistaken with any kind of restoration. honestly I believe it was just well taken care of and then the most recent owner had the engine work done. It comes with the Heavy Duty T-15 Manual Transmission. It does seem to leak a bit when sitting for long periods of time but nothing to note when driven daily. It has a 2" Rancho Suspension lift kit on it. I am including the soft top that came with it as well as the soft doors. but I have never had them on. The front hubs are Warn hubs. Everything else on this Jeep seems to be stock. The headlights work. I could not figure out the wipers but everything is there so I assume they work too. There is no stereo but you will notice the dash has been cut for a stereo slot as well as a single speaker above it. It has Mallory ignition parts. This is a no reserve auction with that said we do have a Buy It Now price in mind. you can email or call me for more information if you are interested in buying it before the auction ends. It is for sale on youtube as well as locally.
These years (1970+) were the first years that AMC took over and started basically making there own engines (GM was putting there engines in before) This particular Jeep features the 304 cubic inch V 8 which was built with the exact tune they were using in the Muscle cars of those days and boy can you tell when you hit the gas in this little Jeep. The CJ-5 that received the 304 were the Renegade pkgs. they came standard with alloy wheels. Dana 44 rear axle with a limited slip differential. This also is the 84" wheelbase 4 x 4 model. Which all together is what makes this Jeep kinda of a barn find because in my search when I listed this. there were no others like it.
