1965 BUICK RIVIERA WITH CORRECT BUICK DUAL QUAD INTAKE & CARBS. EXCELLENT CAR TO CLONE A GRAN SPORT.
This is a very nice. high quality driver. A turn key car. Get in & drive anywhere. It had been repainted in 2002. The dual quad Intake. rebuilt carbs & electronic ignition was installed in 2010. The trans was also rebuilt at this time with a mild shift kit. It runs strong & is very responsive. This car has a lot of power!
The body is straight & very solid. Paint is in excellent condition. It has a very nice paint job! But there is a small scratch on the the right fender (see photo) & a small spot on the deck lid that was touched up (see photo). It also does have a few small rock chips here & there. But nothing major. It's not a show car. it's a very nice driver. All of the chrome & moldings are very nice driver quality. No rust or pitting on the bumpers. Floor boards & frame are solid with the usual surface rust.
New rear springs & shocks were installed last September.  The odometer shows 30850. Which considering the condition & way it runs it very well could be correct. But there is no documentation to back that up. So I'd figure it to be 130850 miles.
The original seats are very nice but starting to show their age. Dash. door & rear side panels are nice. Carpet is getting dull & has a small hole on the drive side front. It could use replacing. Headliner had been replaced but it is not the original style. Wood grain on the console is showing it's age.
All 4 power windows work. Both rears sometimes need a little nudge. I'm sure a greasing of the tracks would correct that. The power seat motor works. but is not moving the seat. I'm guessing one of the cables needs to be replaced. It's far enough back for me so I never touched it.
There is a minor oil seepage from the oil pan gasket & power steering pump front seal. Lucas Oil products may fix theses issues. But I don't drive it enough to run them through the system. So I haven't tried them. The gas gauge does not work. It's either a bad ground or sending unit. Either way an easy fix. The blower motor for the heat & a/c are not working. I have not looked into either.  Last but not least. The headlamp motor was working but very. very slow. One of the wires to the relay switches has broken off. So it will need to be rebuilt.
This is a great car! It will make a great investment for someone. These 65 Riviera's are steadily increasing in value. With only adding roughly another $2k-$3k to it. it could bring in around $30k to $35k. I truly hate to sell it. I planned on making a GS clone/tribute car. I even bought the Gran Sport emblems. the correct dual quad air cleaner & had it re-chromed to do so. But I now need the money. So I am a motivated seller & all reasonable offers will be considered. But no low ball offers please!! I had already been offered $20k for it back in April. But was asking $23. 5k at the time and thought I would get it. I guess I should have taken it then. So my loss is truly your gain.
I'm happy to answer any questions. assist with shipping & or inspections. Serious buyers only please!
F. Y. I. I'm also willing to remove the dual quad/aluminum valve cover set up & put the original parts back on to sell at a lower price. In fact if it does not sell in this 7 day listing with the dual quads. I will be removing them & the aluminum finned valve covers. replacing them with the original 4bbl & valve covers & re-listing it for $17. 5k in July.
Thank you for viewing my listing.

Is this vehicle still availble?

from Dietmar Spiess, dated 02 january 2020
Hello,
I'm interested in the Buick Riviera.
Could you please send me more pictures of the interior so that you can see the seats, the wood and the carpet.
For me the vehicle in its original condition would be interesting, so the engine parts would be original again...

Where can this vehicle be visited?

Which papers do you have for this vehicle?

I thank you for your answer and send greetings from Germany

Dietmar
