BMW 1973 3.0CS With Documented 75,000 Mile CA History for sale

The car was purchased by me in October 2013 from a BMW shop who had the car on consignment from the second owner who was in his eighties.   The second owner bought the car in 1975 when it came off lease from Bob Smith BMW of Canoga Park. California.   Bob Smith BMW sold the car to its first owner in October 1973.  In the photos I have included the listing from the shop that sold me the car to document the condition of the car prior to the work I completed as described below.   The second owner stated to me that he drove the car on a daily basis  until the early 1980's.   A June 1983 Service Stamp shows 61. 04 miles.  A July 1997 Service Stamp shows 72. 28 miles.  Current mileage is 75. 03. The second owner stated to me he only kept the car for "sentimental" reasons but now needed to sell it.   The car includes all the original books including  the stamped service book through the current mileage. the original keys. the original jack and the original tools except two screwdrivers who the second owner said he loaned to a neighbor who did not return them.  The car has all the original body panels. floors and driveline.  The car was stripped to the bare metal excluding the engine compartment as I wanted to preserve the original factory markings and stickers and have "proof" of the unrestored condition of the car.   Photos from the restoration work I had completed show minor body damage on the driver door. the rear area of the driver fender that meets the driver door and the rear passenger quarter panel.  The other photos show the near perfect condition of all other panels.  All of the car's chrome. rubber and glass were removed. All body rubber was replaced.  The chrome and glass is original and was not restored given their very good condition.  The chrome is bright but upon close inspection scratches are visible in some areas.     The car was repainted as delivered from factory in original Fjord Blue and is flawless. The body is absolutely straight with no waves and has excellent gaps and panel fit.    The car's interior was also restored as the car lived in a very dry area and the interior was brittle. The interior was done as delivered from factory and includes new white leather. grey carpets. white headliner and correctly refinished wood.  The underside of the car is original with no undercoating.  Options include 4 speed. air-conditioning and a Becker radio but no sun roof.  I installed the current Becker radio in the car as the original radio failed many years ago and was replace by an incorrect radio.   A non stock Nardi steering wheel was also installed by original owner and I did not replace it.   In the photo section I have also included the cars current condition as described in an appraisal I had completed for insurance purposes.  I did not do any major mechanical work on the car other than boil the gas tank and check all the systems to make sure everything worked.   The car drives very well.  The tires have good tread but the sidewalls are cracked.  I did not replace them as I assumed a new owner might like to change the wheels as well as the tires.  The car is an original unmolested rust free California example that had been restored as a beautiful driver.   Additional photos are available.  I purchased the car for $29. 00 and spent an addition $45. 00 on the restoration.  I believe the car is worth what I have into it given its condition and history.  I am selling the car because  I never should have bought it in the first place.  I had too much stuff and still do but could not resist buying the car given its condition and history.   I started reading Road & Track 45 years ago and still love cars for cars.  Please  contact Max at 949-637-7911 or liskinemail@gmail. com.  I am not a dealer and never sold anything on ebay.
