1929 Ford 5 Window Coupe Hot Rod by Boyd Coddington for sale
Current customer rating:
Henry Ford steel five window coupe that was approximatey 75% complete at the untimely and all too soon passing of Boyd Coddington. However. it is 100% Boyd styling and design and comes with a certificate from the family testifying as to it being a genuine Boyd build. The body fabrication was complete at that time and was chopped by Marcel who also fabricated the hood and hood sides. The front suspension is "one off" as shown in the pictures and is billet aluminum machined by Mike Curtis. The rear end is a Winters quickchange with custom rear cover and axle housings. The engine is a 350 Vortec topped with a Barry Grant six shooter intake with 3 Demon 98 carburetors and Hildebrandt valve covers. Other engine components include a Hunt's magneto style distributorand a electric water pump. The car was completed in Ohio by Jeff Eischen. a noteworthy hot rod builder.
The interior is leather and features a tachometer pod in the floor and old school Stewart Warner gauges in a traditional style housing by Hot Rods by Dean. The true knock off billet wheel were especially designed for this car by Boyd in a 17" rear and 15" front. The flames ere done here in So Cal by Dennis Rickleffs who was the only pinstriper that Boyd used. It was recently serviced by Duane Mayer who was Boyd's shop foreman. It has been finished since 2009 but has test miles only and has never been shown. It was featured in Streetrodder Magazine and a copy goes with the car.
There are too many cool features on this car to list them all but it is a unique vehicle and obviously there will be no more Boyd builds. I am the original owner and I have almost mid six figures invested but it's time to pass the car on to someone who will appreciate and enjoy it.
