CLASSIC MG BGT 1979 CHROME BUMPER CONVERSION WITH OVERDRIVE for sale
Current customer rating: (319 votes ) based onReluctantly I have to sell my pride and joy. Although only owning it for a year. I have fallen in love!! Am only selling as I need a bigger car so selling this and my Renault convertible to finance a new one!
I am selling my 1979 MG BGT 1. 8l Petrol Chrome bumper conversion in British Racing Green. With Overdrive
If you want a car that looks. sounds and feels good and is a real head turner. this is the one for you!!!
I used it for 9 months as an everyday car. all over winter. Started every time with no problems apart form it being a bit chilly. Also took it on holiday to Dorset and again ran beautifully! Even did better MPG thank my friends 2010 1. 4 Vauxhall Corsa which was a bonus!! Used it since as a weekend or posing car.
Beautiful runner for this age of car. will easily sit at 70 but still has a lot left in her to give if you need that extra ompf!
I have recently had some work done on the car. this includes. /p>
New prop shaft
New Points
New fuel filters (car still takes leaded fuel so need to add lead to fuel mix. a bottle from Halfords at £5. 99 lasts 4 fill ups so not a big issue. I was going to convert it but you loose 10% of the engine power so decided against it. it can be done easily ad fairly cheaply if needed)
Rebalance of carburettors and complete engine check (no problems found)
Starter motor has been refurbished
New Battery.
Minilite wheels fitted with 4 descent tyres with plenty of tread + spare.
Black leather interior all in good condition for age.
Car also has an amp fitted in glove box so you can connect IPod or any music player with a headphone jack. No speakers currently as they blew but wires and holes are there ready and waiting in the doors.
Car had a re-spray about 4 years ago. unfortunately there is a bit of bubbling over the rear wheel arches (as shown in the Picture) but what 35 year old car doesn't??
The MOT is currently till the end of June 2104 but I will put a new one on before the new owner takes it away. I have no doubt it will pass.
It is currently sorned so new owner will need to tax. Although off the road. I start it everyday and leave it running just to make sure it keeps everything charged and working. Occasionally take it round the bloke if there's nobody around.
The clock states 37484 miles but this is the second time round so the actual mileage is 137474
This is a good solid car with no major faults that I have come across. As I said this is a reluctant sale so please no time wasters. I am however open to sensible offers.
If you follow the below link I have done a walk around.
