Vehicle Description Ultra Motorsports is very pleased to offer this immaculate museum quality vehicle. This 1941 Lincoln Continental was a very limited production in 1941. To own a vehicle of this age and quality in 2014 is nearly unheard of. While this vehicle unarguably photographs well. the pictures do not do this car justice. It is even more stunning in person. This first edition style Lincoln was developed by Edsel Ford as a personal creation for his personal use only. The vehicle was so popular that Edsel Ford put the Lincoln Continental into LIMITED PRODUCTION. Only 618 of these vehicles were produced. Keep in mind. Ford ceased ALL production after the December 7. 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor in order to support the war effort. Ford would not produce the Lincoln Continental again until 1946. Still in limited production in 1941. this vehicle was most certainly hand built and hand hammered. This hand built and hand hammered vehicle is nearly exactly as it was in 1941. This vehicle has been gently restored. but maintains the majority of its originality. This vehicle has been gently preserved since 1941. The parts used were NOT recreations. This vehicle is extremely original and in museum quality condition. The original 292 cubic inch V-12 engine and 3-speed transmission WITH BORG-WARNER OVERDRIVE power this time capsule. The engine and transmission run as smoothly as when they were new. The engine compartment is immaculate and preserved to like new original condition. The paint shows like new and the chrome is show quality. Every exterior and interior detail is painstakingly accurate and looks like new. There is a very small paint chip low on the front fender. I would be happy to photograph this for you upon request. The interior of this vehicle is most certainly primarily original. The seats. headlilner. and carpets are in perfect condition. The exotic wood finish dash. 14 K gold plated dash accents. and all plastic knobs and buttons are immaculate condition and original. All instruments are working like new. Even the courtesy lights are working properly as documented in the pictures. The underside of this vehicle is virtually rust free and in museum quality as well. I would be happy to take pictures of the vehicle on a lift upon request. Also included with this vehicle is THE ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET! It is rare in the collector car world for a build sheet to be included. a build sheet from 1941 is unheard of. This vehicle was also a MAJOR AWARD WINNER by the LINCOLN CONTINENTAL OWNERS CLUB. This vehicle is truly an American History time capsule. A testament to the progressive thinking and craftsmanship of the American automobile. Another fun fact. a black 1941 Lincoln Continental was featured in the Francis Ford Coppola film THE GODFATHER (1972). The owner of the car. non other than notorious ganster Sonny Corleon. A 1941 Lincoln Continental was Coppola's choice when casting the perfect car for the ganster Sonny Corleon. In the famous "Tollbooth Scene" in which Sonny Corleon is gunned down. a black 1941 Lincoln Continental is featured. This vehicle is very similar (minus the bullet holes. ). Why is this significant? Francis Ford Coppola could have chosen any vehicle to complete the "ganster" character he was filming. He chose a VERY limited production (618) black 1941 Lincoln Continental. Just like this one. A vehicle of less quality recently sold for $69. 00. 00 (+ fees) at Bonhams Scottsdale Auction. There will be no disappointments with this vehicle. It needs nothing and runs like a watch.
