This 1978 Subaru Brat is in excellent condition compared to most older Brats. With only 120. 00 miles. it runs great and is ready to be driven anywhere.

This is one of very few first-gen Brats that came equipped with factory air conditioning. However. it does not currently blow cold air.

It has no mechanical issues to the best of my knowledge. and no leaks. I just had $1400 worth of work done (with receipts) to make it 100% reliable:

• New CV axles and boots

• New starter

• New water pump

• Rebuilt carburetor

• Full tune-up with new plugs

• Changed oil in engine. transmission and transfer case

• Fuel tank drained and cleaned

• Front brake pads replaced (rear still have 50%)

The Michelin X tires are in good shape. with at least 60-70% tread.

The paint is not original and not perfect. but it still has a nice shine. There are a few dings and dents. as shown in the photos. There are some small areas of rust here and there which have been touched up. but nothing major.

The underside has some superficial surface rust. but as you can see from the photos. it's way better than average. and definitely nothing structural or in need of repair.

The interior is very clean. with original carpet and just one small split in the passenger seat upholstery. The driver's seat upholstery. however. is pretty rough. The dash is one of the best I've seen. although it does have a few narrow cracks.

This Brat comes with some rare extras. such as the camper shell. bull bar and a roll bar (not currently installed). I have the rear seats for it. which I can include if you want. But if you don't need them. I wouldn't mind keeping them and reducing the price a couple hundred.

It also has a custom-fit. indoor/outdoor carpeted wooden bed liner that was originally sold with the camper shell. I've never seen one of these intact!

It does have a few minor issues. It does not have a radio. The driver seat back is a bit wobbly on one side. There is probably a loose or broken bracket which shouldn't be too hard to fix. especially if you're re-upholstering the seat anyway. The tailgate latch is not working (also likely due to a broken bracket on one side) so it cannot currently be opened. This should also be an easy fix. The windshield was re-sealed and looks a bit sloppy around the edges. but on the plus side. it doesn't leak.
