At the 1959 London Motor Show. Rolls-Royce and Bentley introduced their first all-alloy V-8 engine. It was housed in the Bentley S2 and its close cousin. the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II. This new power plant delivered an estimated 200 horsepower. and due to its lightweight construction. it offered tremendous performance in comparison to the 4. 8-liter six-cylinder engine it replaced.  

The new V-8 would see duty powering various Bentley models well into the
'90s and the introduction of the Arnage. Other Bentley mechanical upgrades for 1960 included the new four-speed Hydramatic transmission. power steering. and upgraded power assisted brakes. Inside. the S2 was given a beautiful updated dashboard. which included new improved gauges. br />but the tradition of hand-rubbed woodwork and fine hides was still amply
evident.

   This beautiful right-hand-drive S2 features the factory’s "Steel Saloon" coachwork. beautifully resplendent in the original two-tone silver finish. It is an older. quality paint job in an elegant combination. with only minor flaws and wear apparent. and the car has excellent chrome and glass throughout. The interior is original. with supple leather seating surfaces and the beautiful woodwork we anticipate in a Bentley.   

   The instrument panel. gauges. and all equipment is in fine working order. You’ll enjoy power steering. power brakes and power windows while driving. but the S2 might just be one of the few cars that is equally enjoyable in the passenger compartment. Few vehicles have the passenger leg room and amenities of a Bentley. and combined with that incredibly smooth ride. a quick trip to the store seems like a limousine ride when you take the Bentley.  

   
The vehicle shows just 64. 00 miles from new. and the care it has received is readily apparent.   One of just 1. 65 built in 1960. the paint and body still look great. and the interior is stunning – a testament to the old-school craftsmanship still evident from Bentley.   Many consider the S2 models to
