The Mini should need little introduction. however. it may be of
interest to note that the Mk III Mini. produced from 1969 to 2000. br/>had a modified bodyshell with several alterations from the early
models. The most obvious changes were larger doors with concealed
hinges. Customer demand led to the sliding windows being replaced
with winding windows and the suspension reverted from Hydrolastic
to rubber cones as a cost saving measure. With so many Minis built. br/>it would become popular to modify to individual tastes.

On offer today is a convertible Mk III Mini modified from a
standard saloon. To maintain integrity. we are informed that the
car has been strengthened and has a roll bar incorporated for extra
safety and rigidity. During the modification. new floors were also
added. Mechanically. an overhaul of the front and rear suspension
has been carried out. the commonly weak front and rear subframes
have been replaced and the engine has been overhauled. The interior
has been re-trimmed with leather seats. vinyl door cards and new
carpets. A nice touch to the interior is the alloy door handles. br/>window winders and leather matching dashboard. The Mini looks
attractive with its metallic blue coachwork. black hood and tan
hood storage bag keeping things tidy whilst the hood is stowed. A
colour coded fuel tank resides within the boot area and is supplied
via a quick release fuel filler cap.

We are advised that this. UK registered. little convertible Mini
will arrive with a fresh MoT test certificate. With the summer upon
us. what a fun package this is. that may enjoyed by a lucky new
owner.
