The Alfa Romeo Spider was manufactured from 1966 to 1993 and is
widely regarded as a design classic. remaining in production for
almost three decades having only minor aesthetic and mechanical
changes. The previous three series were assembled by Pininfarina in
Grugliasco and the fourth series in San Giorgio Canavese this was
the last rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo. The Series three Spider was
previewed in North America for the 1982 model year with the
introduction of 2. 0 litre Bosch electronic fuel injection to
replace the SPICA mechanical injection. The Spider underwent a
major styling revamp in 1983 which saw the introduction of black
rubber front and rear bumpers. The front bumper incorporated the
grille and a small soft rubber spoiler was added to the boot lid.
The change altered the exterior appearance of the car considerably
and was not universally praised by enthusiasts. Various other minor
mechanical and aesthetic modifications were also made and the 1600
car dropped the 'Junior' name.
This excellent lefthand drive 1984. Alfa Romeo Spider was
supplied new in Germany and was imported to the UK in 2007. shortly
after the body received light restoration where it was necessary.
The Alfa has been repainted in grey metallic and some work has been
carried out to the brown leather seats bringing the car back to the
very good condition presented here today. This Alfa Romeo 2. 0 Litre
Spider is supplied with a V 5 C registration document and the owner
informs us that at the time of sale it will have a new Mo T test
certificate. Also included with the car are several invoices
relating to the services the car has had in Germany and the UK
together with the original German registration document. As it was
said on a series of Top Gear program 'you are not a true classic
car enthusiast until you have owned an Alfa'.
