Thanks for looking!

Registration No. 80 PUR. 80 PORsche with a screw in the right place included and transferable. Value of £1500-£3000

THIS CAR IS FOR RESTORATION ITS NOT A COUPLE OF DAYS TO FIX & MOT CAR must be trailered away not towed. sticky brakes ect

Lets start in 1971. Going by the VIN number and checked by the local Porsche garage this was a very nice Emarald green RHD 911E Targa. Engine number and type also match and support this and the green paint still exists under the other paint!

Then the 80's happened. suddenly the Classic 71 911 is no longer cool and not worth much so what happens? (just like today's new porkers) some muppet in London decides it needs a facelift and has it fitted out to look like a turbo cabriolet (a very good strong job done I must say) and had it painted bright red.

43 years. nbsp;1 more respray & 10 uk owners later (this was imported in 1982 to the uk looks original rhd) its here for sale!

The car its self has Matching Vin and engine numbers. engine code is 911/01 correct for the 1971 2. 3 911E with bosch mechanical injection. after much scraping through underseal the stamped vin number is under the bonnet still. also the paint code tab is in the door shut. after much debate with a few people who know everything 911 the Vin number checks out fine. there was some confusion online over a 0's and 1's meaning coupe or targa apparently its quite regular for targa's to have a 1 or a 0 just to confuse things!

CONDITION

Viewing is best on this car! its ideal to restore back to a original spec 71 car as the 80's facelift parts make good money! I have had this running for around 5 min. it drove 10 meters up the road and a fuel pipe split. there is a slight oil leak from the middle of the engine as usual but it seams like a good lump. I have no intention of getting it up and running again it NEEDS a full service and checkover running it without a oil change and service will only be bad for it I will gtee that it is a good running engine! its been off the road for 15+ years.

Rust wise its not to bad. the main areas that need attention are around the rear anti roll bars mounts (badly corroded mounts but a easy weekend of welding to rectify) and the floor pans they are all stll there but scabby and a few holes. the only body rust is to one side of the windscreen pillar. Paint work is very poor but quite straight panel wise for its age. wheels are very nice

Inside of the car is Scruffy but everything seams to be there apart from some carpet (replaced when facelifted)

REASON FOR SALE

Quite simply I bought this with the intention of a quick tidy. sort the messy electrics out and weld up for a mot. then to chuck a coat of red paint on it and have some fun in the summer. at that point I did not realise it was a very rare 2. 2 911E that needs a more loving owner!

Paperwork

Full V5 loads of old MOT's going back to the early 1990's a load of invoices and a couple of bills of sale

Last owner had it for 12 years sitting in a garage attached to his house. it did have a lot of money spent on it when he first got it. new calipers ect. its only been sat outside for 8 weeks in the last 12 years

Just to correct a few things. original paint code is 2626 Conda Green. supposed to be one of the rarest 911 colours. I have scraped back paint in a few places to check and the correct green paint is all around the car on the bodyshel. pillars. inner front and rear wings. rear panel. underbody and chassis legs. at some point this has had a replacement spare wheel well and front 20" of inner wings probably due to rust so there is no paint there.

Link to 89 photobucket pictures below showing the true condition. I had a poke at the rust so you can see the holes. I have nothing to hide so feel it best to show the good and bad points!

Also Yes the number plate is transferable. No it does not show up on the DVLA tax website due to a error there end (but if you call them they will confirm all is good over the phone just as I did and a HPI check shows all good)

Or if none of those work a direct link to photobucket. http://s71. photobucket. com/user/adam6900/library/80pur?sort=3&page=1

Just a quick note on colour history of the car. helping to show its the original shell!

Green from new as per code in door shut. the tag remains un tampered with and has its original fixings. Green when imported in 1982 (according to the dvla) changed to red at some point after 1985 (unkown date dvla are unsure) still Red in 1992 when it had the private plate added (dvla stamped mot with red colour and new reg mark) then next mot in 1993 it went to grey and stayed like it since. if you go through the layers of paint around the car like I have its correct. green red then grey

I am quite sure the facelift was done in the 80's and the red paint to the facelift parts would show this to be correct. original colour of the facelift bonnet and boot is blue.
