For the eagle eyed hard core e-Bayers amongst you this has been up for sale before but unfortunately there were no takers despite the interest that was shown. nearly 4000 views and just short of 100 watchers. So I'm going to give it another go at the reduced Buy It Now price. we all know what this is worth but I am open to sensible offers.  I have also uncovered some additional parts. nothing spectacular. which I have included and are listed at the end of the details. So here goes;

For sale a full rally prepared Escort Mk1 shell. This has been built for clubman / national rallying. it was going to be a forest spec car but it could easily be used for tarmac as well. I purchased this example almost 5 years ago and during this time all the preparation work has been completed by Maylum RS (a renowned Escort preparation specialist in the South East for over 40 years).

Once the necessary work to remove the rot had been completed it then went through a full Grp 4 modification program and during this time is has had the following new panels;

·      Front wings. /span>·      Front panel (round headlights). /span>·      Inner and outer sills. /span>·      Cross member boxes. /span>·      Slam panel. /span>·      Rear panel. /span>·      Floor pans (all four)·      Repairs to both doors including new door skins

Along with the following work completed;

·      Steel bubble arches·      Large gearbox tunnel·      Diff tunnel·      Fully seam welded·      Radiator cutout·      Strut top reinforcement plates (not the small RS type)·      Exhaust tunnel (drivers side to cater for a Pinto. Cosworth or Duratec engine)·      Double skinned bulkhead·      Large rear (known as 15") tubs·      Round rear turrets·      Tank tray. battery and dry sump mounting trays·      Fuel pump mounting bracket (in boot on offside tub)·      Seat mounting bars·      Watts linkage towers·      Heavy duty 4 link boxes·      Aluminium firewall with plates for wiring and pipework to pass through·      Full multi point weld in cage (Roll Centre) with front triangulation·      Sills have mountings for side axle stands·      Oil unions in bulkhead for dry sump system·      Chassis mounted engine mount brackets·      Underbody protection in the usual places along with various chassis skids for protection·      And all the usual gussets. strengthening and blanking plates.

Along with all this it has a front strut brace. navigators foot brace. fibreglass bonnet and boot lid and a pair of aluminum floor plates (to raise the floor by approximately 45mm).

The car is now completely rot free (as all the duff bits have been replaced) and is currently in primer (greenish) with all the hard work done. The underside has already been painted for protection; it just needs to be finished off in the colour of choice by the buyer. The shell does come with a V5 document but unfortunately no tags (never got them when I bought the shell) but these can be bought separately from traders on the Internet. if you wish or make your own.  A further piece of good news is that following the recent Budget announcement once the car is rebuilt it qualifies for the 'historic vehicle' tax class. which means its free.

Include in the sale are the following items:

·      Brand new and complete with cylinders a bias pedal box ready for a hydraulic clutch setup·      A pair of rear lights·      A pair of Works style front side/indicator lights·      Two dashtops (crashpads) which I think have seen better days but would probably look okay if flocked·      Front grill which would need painting or powder coating·      Wiper motor assembly·      Rear bumper with brackets·      Door catches and handles·      Steering column·      A set of column stalk switches from a Mk2·      Window channels·      A selection of rubbers for doors and windows. although I was going to replace all these with new items

If anyone needs further details. information or more pictures just contact me via the usual eBay method and I'll get back to you. The shell is available for viewing but strictly by prior arrangement as it is stored off site (Medway area. Kent).

Payment by bank transfer or cash on collection at agreed price. no haggling when collecting. No returns are accepted and the buyer will be responsible for collection and transportation although subject to location and agreement I may be able to assist with transportation.

Thanks for looking.
