I am selling this car for my brother-in-law who has owned and maintained it for the past seven years. He purchased it on EBay and has enjoyed it with his children and grand-children while living at the beach here in Southern California. In the past seven years he has only put about 2. 00 miles on the car. I will answer all questions to the best of my ability and happy to forward on questions to him should I be unable to answer.

The car is currently registered in California. license number 5VPT313. expiring November 2014. The vehicle identification number is P6FH266686 and currently shows 49. 14 miles on the odometer. We do not have any idea about the total miles on the car since new. but we do know when the car was purchased by him the odometer reading was 47. 95. which the then seller claimed to be original miles. Once again. we have no data to verify this. Additionally. when the car arrived and subsequent work was done to the car. the odometer / speedometer was taken apart. rebuilt and reinstalled. and the miles were set to what the removed unit read so it would be consistent.

It has a 312 factory V-8 engine with factory 3-speed manual transmission. removable non-porthole hard top PLUS factory convertible top. Note: convertible top clear plastic window has a small hole in it on the driver's side behind where the driver's head would be. The top appears to be missing the stainless steel header trim on the outside front of it. Also. stock from the factory is a power seat. power windows (NOTE: no power brakes or power steering). factory AM Town and Country radio (not currently working). non-stock fixed one piece mast antenna. Pioneer Satellite AM/FM/CD radio (Sirius XM has expired). Two speakers have been installed behind the seat through the upholstered curtain. From the trunk. you can see the wood put in place to secure the speakers. which go through the curtain. but it is believe there has been no permanent modification to the car to accomodate these speakers.

WHAT DOES NOT WORK ON THE CAR: Windshield wipers and windshield washers do not work. Factory in-dash clock inop. the horn on the after-market leather wrapped steering wheel on car does not work (but factory steering wheel and factory horn ring come with car). hood release handle broken off and hood must be opened by pulling cable with vise-grips. and the factory heater / blower motor also does not work.

Car comes with two sets of wheels and tires. Newer reproduction factory style turquoise and white seat covers. dash cover. door panels. kick panels. carpet. padded sun visors. headliner. seat belts and floor mats. The turquoise part of the dash. under the radio and aluminum trim. has been painted in recent years. but before 2007 when my brother-in-law purchased the car. There is newer nice chrome on front and rear bumpers and bumper guards. Newer dual mufflers and dual exhaust which come out of rear bumper.

Nice chrome rims and chrome smoothie hubcaps currently on car with newer BF Goodrich P205/75R15 tires as well as a second set of factory wheels with turquoise paint. near new original style wide whitewall tires and a spare set of factory wheel covers. Factory fender skirts painted to match the car come with car. but not currently on car. The stock wheel covers which come with the car but are not installed. have various dings on them. but apparently the red Ford crest medallions were replaced in recent years. prior to 2007. The grille has some corrosion as do some of the a-pillar trim and related pieces. and the chrome windshield wiper housings. below the wiper arms. are pitted and will have to be re-chromed.

Currently the car has possibly a later model intake manifold and later model four barrel Holley carburetor with manual choke and MSD ignition coil. Stainless steel braided hoses. stainless steel radiator hose. newer 12 volt battery. 6-blade fan (but the original three blade fan comes with car). Spare original type intake manifold and original style carb come with car as well as a spare set of regular 1956 Ford passenger car (probably 292) valve covers.

Car runs great. drives great. body straight with only a few small parking lot dings the size of dimes or nickels and one larger dent. the size of a silver dollar right below the driver side rear view mirror on top of door (see photo).

All glass is good; a car cover comes with the car. as does a reproduction shop manual and a reproduction owner's manual. There is no factory jack.

This car was purchased by my brother-in-law on Ebay in October of 2006 with 47. 95 miles showing on the odometer. So this car has been driven less than 2. 00 miles in the last seven years. but has been treated to regular oil changes. brake inspections and fluid changes as part of routine maintenance.

In February of 2007 the car was taken to Prestige Thunderbird in Santa Fe Springs. California where it was treated to approximately $7. 00. 00 of work. including:

R&R engine and trans

There are no major fluid leaks and the engine sound great. just as a 1956 Ford Thunderbird should.

The paint on the car. all the way around. has various scratches. chips and also. when in certain light. has some cracking. It is a great ten-footer and a great driver and has even participated in local car shows where it always gets looks. but it is probably an older frame-on restoration which has been used and enjoyed. It is not a show car.   Please check out all the photos and do ask questions before bidding. The car can be made available by appointment for inspection in Pasadena. California. Potential buyers are encouraged to bring a mechanic and take a look.
