Rover P4
Series Rover P4 is a group of cars in the back of the sedan production from 1949 to 1964, developed by the engineer Gordon Bashford. Designation P4 used in the terminology of the factory for a whole group of models of cars and practically was not used conventional owners, which usually just said that they had "Rover 60", "Rover 75", "Rover 80", "Rover 90" and so on.
The original P4, model 75, was created in 1949. She showed the public the controversial modern design, which is very contrasted with outdated Rover P3, to change which P4 came. One of the most unusual features of the machine was the Central installation of headlamps in the grille. The model, known as the "Eye of a Cyclops", was withdrawn from production after 1952.
In 1953 came out in the light of two new version P4 - Rover 60 and Rover 90, the main feature of which was the engine. If the model 60 set the engine from land Rover volume of 2 liters, the version of the 90 raised more powerful and modern engine volume of 2.6 liters, which could drive the car to 100 km/h in 19 seconds (compared with 27 seconds for the Rover 60).
