Model Opel Olympia - compact family car, produced by the company Opel in 1935-1940 years. The next generation who bear the name of the Opel Olympia, totally different from the original and technical equipment, and design. Was the first mass-produced car in Germany, constructed on a steel housing type "monokok". Its name Opel Olympia was given because of the Olympic games in Germany, 1936-th.
It had an Opel Olympia 4-cylinder 1,3-litre engine with top location of the valves. Produced in a 2-door types of the body convertible and sedan. Both the body had 5 Windows, all convertibles Opel Olympia equipped with a soft folding roof. Originally cars equipped with 3-speed manual transmissions, since 1937 - 4-stage.
It is noteworthy that in 1967 the name of the Opel Olympia was again used by the manufacturer for the designation of "luxury" version of the car Opel cadet B. Production of the Opel Olympia was suspended during the war, but later revived with a completely new design of the vehicle.
