Model name Ventura is a contraction of the word В«bonaventureВ»that from Italian means В«fortuneВ». Cars produced under the model Pontiac Ventura, produced as a full-size (1960-1970) and compact (1971-1977) machines. Production lasted from 1960-th to the 1977-th year.
For the first time the car Pontiac Ventura was introduced in 1960 as a new more expensive model of the company Pontiac, built on the platform of the B-body that was also used a series of Pontiac Catalina. Machines were available with bodies of four-door sedan and two-door hardtop.
