Ferrari 212 Inter
Ferrari 212 Inter replaced the successful models of class GT - Ferrari 166 195 Inter in 1951. Presented at the exhibition Brussels Motor in this year, model 212 was the evolution of Ferrari 166 - road sports car, which can win in international races.
Chassis Ferrari 212 Inter was like a Ferrari 125 with double wishbone front of the living and the bridges behind. The production of the body engaged in the Carrozzeria Touring, Ghia, Vignale, as well as Pinin Farina. Part of the latter was very important for the company Ferrari, because Farina was already well-known brand and using their skills in the design could give a huge impetus to the development of the company in Maranello.
Two versions of 2.500 mm (98,4 inches) and 2600 mm (102,4 inches) were built (export and Inter models, respectively), both with a large 2.6 litre engine Ferrari Colombo V12. Output power varied from 150 to 165 h.p. (111 to 123 kW) with one or three carburetor Weber 36DCF. A model with a short wheelbase "Export" has received a more powerful engine. Additional 5 HP. (3.7 kW) have been added due to the improvement of the cylinder head.
