Mercedes-Benz SSK

Mercedes-Benz SSK produced from 1928 to 1932. All was made of 30 models of the Mercedes-Benz SSK and 12 other modifications SSKL. It is noteworthy that there are no two Mercedes-Benz SSK with absolutely identical bodies, and some of them were ordered not even in Germany, and in Italian design workshops.

Initially at the Mercedes-Benz SSK installed engine 7064 cm3, develops 170 HP at 2900 rpm. But to participate in the deliberations of automobile competitions power almost immediately increased to 180 HP, which allowed to develop 180 km/h. It was good, but not great.

In order to achieve even a greater speed, it was necessary to reduce the weight. So there was a Mercedes-Benz SSKL (abbreviation SSKL means the Super Sport a Short Easy). In addition to this, the engine was installed compressor, that allowed to raise the capacity of up to 300 HP at 3400 rpm and develop up to 200 km/h.

At the Mercedes-Benz SSKL German racers in his time, won practically all car racing. But it is worth noting that the management of this monster, which had a 7-litre engine, but who had no power steering or even good brakes, was under the force of calculated units.
