Morris Minor Traveller Lovely throughout with virtually new wood.

A thoroughly honest. genuine and sound Morris Minor Traveller in Almond Green with very low miles. three previous owners and a known history since virtually new.

I have been in touch with the first owner's daughter who confirmed it was a “high days and holidays car”. hence the very low miles. Her father. now retired. was a farmer and had other vehicles at his disposal! She told me of family days out and holidays to Norfolk with great emotion! Her father finally sold the car seventeen years later in 1984 when it had done a mere 49k miles.

The Traveller was then put into storage for the next 26 years. when in January 2010 it was fully restored by its second owner. a Morris Minor specialist. span >  including all new woodwork. which alone cost £1600.

In August 2010 the Traveller was bought by its third owner and promptly treated to a full internal chassis injection by Rustbuster Ltd. using cavity wax with the outer chassis protected with Dinitrol 4941 (I have subsequently had my Minor Van rustproofed and treated by them as I was so impressed by what they had done with the Traveller!) Then in November an electronic ignition kit was fitted to aid reliability and offer instant starting!

In the summer of 2012 he unfortunately passed away and I became its keeper. so to make life easier at the filling station. I had the cylinder head converted to unleaded. There is also a stainless steel exhaust fitted to aid longevity.

The immaculate wood. as you can see in one of the images. has recently been treated to six coats of teak oil to preserve its good looks and offer protection for some time to come.

In the comprehensive history folder with the car is a Heritage Certificate that shows the car was built on 6th September 1965. MAW5/1119068 departed on the 7th to be sold from Colmore Depot Ltd. BMC dealers in Birmingham on the 13th September.

In the time I have owned the car. it has been totally reliable. One of the pics shows my dear wife and I enjoying a classic car run last summer. which it completed with no dramas whatsoever! She drives an absolute treat. keeping pace with modern traffic not only from a pulling power point of view. but also from the braking department. (Far better than my van!!) I am sadly selling to release some garage space to accommodate another classic.

Please email or call me on 07850 749090 if you would like further info. or to come and have a look.

Thanks!
