Volvo 262 c Coupe Bertone body very rare, 3 owners, low miles,

APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE FOR THE LENGTH OF THIS ADVERT BUT I HAVE LIMITED TIME TO ANSWER QUESTIONS SO !!  here we go -- This auction is for this extremely rare 262 c Volvo. one of 3 classics that I will list this week that I swore I would keep forever !!!! However. time. space and life have determined that forever is now !!!!!  I will take a load of photos tomorrow and upload. but have made a decision and want to get the auction started.
So where to begin. a bit about the car generally. this beast is the bastard love child of the safe Swedes at Volvo and the crazy Italians at Bertone designed in the late 1970s by Bertone as a two door sleek version of the 264 saloon and sadly was much better received by the US and European markets than the stuffy Brits of the time and it was sold in extremely small numbers in the UK. I have the original sales bumf and it cost an eye watering £12. 99. 86 in 1979 !!!! So that just might explain it. that and the generally ugly weirdness of it. I am not sure how many of these originally sold. but I just checked 'How many left' website and its showing 13 licensed (on the road) in the UK currently. These are a bit of an acquired taste. and generally I used to get called 'pimp' quite a lot when I drove it. but hey ho ! I personally think its stunningly quirky and I have never driven past another. so if you like to be different. nbsp;The spec is amazing for its time and it has the following:2. 7 fuel injected v6  148hpTinted glass (including front top tint)Air Con Electric windows Electric Mirrors Leather Cruise Control Heated Seats Auto Electric aerial (very 70s)  This particular car was supplied by my local Volvo dealership and has spent its life in our local area having had 3 owners. I brought it on the road in 2000 and used it as a weekend toy for a couple of years. decided to start restoration and took it off the road. it was stripped and given bare metal respray and had all required welding work done. including new sills some inner arch work and bits and pieces. it had perfect paintwork when completed. then I got it back from the painters put it in the garage and over the last ten years. I have put it back together. got it out of the garage. left it out. put it back in. moved it to various places. given it too various garages to finish (who never got around to it) and it has sat around. but never got quite back on the road ( sound familiar ???)  So enough is enough. it owes me a fortune but has to go and hopefully a better man than me and a fresh set of eyes and she will live again and get back on the road. A quick run down -------MECHANICALLYVery good. starts. runs. drives and is all there. will need the exhaust sorting as its blowing and the gearbox needs service and oil. runs lovely and has just had a new fuel pump and a complete clean through. as the fuel was stale. so it is now running sweet. undoubtedly it will need a run through the usual items brakes etc. for MOT  (obviously has no current MOT) but all in all shouldn't be a major drama and well within the realms of a home garage fiddle BODY Sadly despite me spending an absolute fortune on the rebuild it has a few areas breaking out again rust wise (just time and neglect not poorly done) but nothing major. sadly picked up a couple of minor scratches and dents. so its is going to need a little paintwork to get perfect. however as it will show in the photos. when polished it comes up lovely still and if you ran it as is. as a rolling/driving project it looks fine. not a rust heap by any stretch. when it was stripped it was waxoyled everywhere. nbsp;INTERIOR Excellent the original black ruffled leather still looks like new and has been treated. the door pads are currently off the car but have been dried stored and are ready to clip back on. ( I may get chance to refit before auction end) GENERALLY This is a very straightforward project and if you get it MOTd it would make a nice everyday hack. this car drives like any other well built Volvo and is effortless and easy driving. this is a very straight original car and comes with all its original paperwork. service book. owners manuals (even radio book) still on its original dealer Logo number plate. a chance to own a rare and unique bit of motoring history. nbsp;I am truly gutted to be getting rid after 14 years of ownership and really want this to go to a Volvo enthusiast. nbsp;inspection is welcome and encouraged. please message and arrange viewings. nbsp;No time wasters please only bid if you want to buy and low feedback bids. less than  20 or not 100% feedback please contact me before placing bid. Thanks for all the interest and the questions. so a quick update. I have finally uploaded some more photos. hopefully should show some of the worst bits. couple of rust areas. a small dent in the front wing and a couple of scratches on the boot/rear quarter. answering a few questions. NO it can't be driven away. it runs and drives. however front headlights and grille are not currently fitted and having not been on the road for years. I would say it was not roadworthy. YES it is 100% complete every chrome trim. badge and nut and screw is there. YES I have logbook and documents. original service book and owners wallet. How quickly does it need to go ?? Yes I want to sell it. however I have sufficient space to store it for a few weeks. so as long as you have come and seen me and paid. then it can remain in secure storage for the time being. nbsp;happy bidding
