Here is your chance to own a very rare Pontiac. a 1966 2+2 convertible. Only 6. 83 were made and there is no breakdown of how many were convertibles. but with such a low production number. the guess is not many. This car is a Pontiac Historical Services documented 1966 2+2 with the standard 421/338HP engine. The options were: PS. PB. Tilt Steering. Clock. Auto Trans. Safe-T-Trac rear. Console. and 8-lug wheels. I have owned this car since 1994 and in addition to the Pontiac documentation. I have kept all service record receipts and receipts for parts since I have owned the car. That is 20 years of detailed documentation on the car! There are some receipts from the previous owner but he did not keep nearly the detailed records that I have. I also have the original Protect-O-Plate and the new owner booklets that came with the car.

This is a true California car. The gentleman I bought it from. he and his son brought the car up from California but his son lost interest and the father ended up selling the car to me. The car was originally gold metallic but was red when I bought it. I had it repainted Torch Red. a 1983 Corevette color. in 1995 and the car still gets compliments on the paint work at the shows. So what has been done to the car during my 20 years of ownership? I have tried to keep it original but added some options that I would have ordered on the car.

The car underwent a frame on restoration in 1995. I gutted the interior and repainted the floors in the car. The body was professionally repainted and a new top was added. The front and rear bumpers have been rechromed but all of the other chrome trim is original and still in very good condition. The seats and rear armrests were redone. but the inserts are original as the heat stamping in the seats were not able to be reproduced. The engine in the car is a 421HO clone. I did have the Tri-Power on it but because if tuning issues. I removed it and added the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and an 800CFM Thunder AVS carburator. I added the three spoke wood wheel. The tach is an Autometer sweep tach so it matches the other guages in that is sweeps from left to right. I also added the additional guages for oil and temp after I added the new engine. No modifications were made to the dash to add these guages and the tach is almost mounted where the original would have been.

Mechanically the car is very solid. The rebuilt 421HO engine has only about 4k miles on it and the Turbo 400 trans was rebuilt and a mild shift kit was added and it has about 6K miles on it. I have driven this car to the Norwalk Pontiac Nationals show a few times winning 3rd place in my class in 2005. I also drove this car to the POCI show in Charleston WV. but I did not attend because of rain.

The winning bidder gets the car. nbsp;the documentation. and if you want. the original parts. The original engine is on a pallet. the original AM radio. which still works. the original steering wheel. and any other original parts that I salvaged during the restoration. Feel free to email any questions to my personal address. ekubiszak@hotmail. com or you can call me at 219-771-9812. Thank you and happy bidding!

Okay. much like when I listed it before I have been getting a lot of "how much are you asking questions" and I have decided to put this link in so that people can go to where I have gone to get my pricing. http://www. hagerty. com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vc=869191

Haggerty's Valuation tools shows a condition 2 1966 2+2 Convertible with the 421/338HP engine at $54. 00. Now in a perfect world with a perfect car that may be the case. My pricing is closer to what they have the car priced at last year at $37. 00. I hope I am not hurting anyones feelings when I say that you cannot buy a car like this for $15K-$20K. You cannot even get a hardtop for that price in this condition. If you want a car in that price range then you will need to look at a car that needs work and may even need some restoring. not a car that you can detail. take to a local or Pontiac show. and win a trophy.
