Welcome to this classified ad for our Classic Mini.  We have owned the car since 2008 having purchased from a classic car enthusiast who had recently completed a full bodywork and interior renovation with a professional respray in the original pearlescent Caribbean Blue. unique to the limited edition Rio of which only 750 were produced.   Following our acquisition of the car. we took it to renowned Mini specialists ML Motorsport who carried out a complete engine and gearbox rebuild. and complete suspension overhaul including hi-lo suspension with new rubber cones and uprated KYB dampers.  The engine work was carried out to ML Motorsports "Fast Road" specification which includes a 1310cc kit with the HIF44 carb. new clutch and balanced and lightened flywheel.   This results in an engine that picks up cleanly. has lots of torque and is easy to drive.   Therefore the entire chassis and engine have been renovated and uprated.
As if that were not enough. we have had a premium sound system professionally fitted by Alarming Entertainment with 4 Alphasonik speakers and a top end Alpine head unit.  This provides excellent sound quality with bluetooth for your phone via an integrated speaker system and MP3/iPod socket.  So you have both the engine and ICE which sets this car apart!

In addition the car also benefits from -

Prior to the renovation the car had travelled 68. 00 miles. the current MOT shows 5. 61 as a new Smiths clockset was fitted at the time of the renovation.   Other notable parts replaced include water pump. fuel pump. coil. radiator. alternator. clutch slave cylinder. brake discs. brake lines. rear subframe. radius arms. windscreen. rubbers. dizzy. high output HT leads. carpets. headlining etc.  I have boxes full of receipts running to over £7000 detailing everything that has been done in recent years and supporting the staggering amount of work has been done to make it the outstanding car it is today (just one of these invoices is pictured here).   The V5 is in our name.  Tyres have plenty of tread.
In recent years the car has been maintained regardless of cost by Kingfisher Classic Cars in Kent.  It has recently had a full service and is ready to go.  As the tax and MOT are due to expire soon we will provide the buyer with a new full 12 months MOT and 6 months tax for complete peace of mind.  Some of the photos used were taken late last summer. but since then the car has been used only in fine weather (so very little!) and sits happily cosseted in a heated garage with a dehumidifier. so these are fully representative of the condition of the car today.
The car is very comfortable on the motorway and will keep up with modern traffic easily. handling and braking is superb benefiting from new or improved components and slightly wider tyres which allow for good rubber without being so wide that the legendary Mini handling is spoiled.   There are no known mechanical issues and everything works as it should.  The only negative I can think of is that the heater matrix/fan is quite noisy.
We have a valuation certificate of £6. 00 from the British Mini Club for our agreed insurance valuation policy so you have the opportunity to buy a classic piece of British motoring history at a great price all ready to enjoy the summer with.  You may be interested to know that insurance discounts are available with membership of the British Mini Club.  There is a genuine reason for this reluctant sale.
Payment should be by bank transfer or cash please. although the car will not be released until all funds are cleared.   Sensible offers will be considered.
All serious questions and especially viewings are welcome.  I would encourage you to view the car for yourself as it really is as good as it looks. and also any offer that is accepted is not then subject to further negotiation.  I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time in the event that I receive an offer outside of this listing.  Please contact me via e-bay or on my mobile 07720412509.
We will not ship overseas nor are we interested in a PX.  Buyer collects.
