I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS FINE TRUCK. THE ORIGINAL OWNER WAS IN OREGON FULLY GARAGED. THIS TRUCK HAD PLASTIC FENDER FLARES WHICH RUBBED THROUGH PAINT WHEN IT ARRIVED AT MY HOME IN 2003 WHICH I REMOVED & IS PICTURED. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 10 YEARS. LAST 3 OF WHICH WERE GARAGED.
I BOUGHT IT WITH 58000 MILES ON IT. THIS TRUCK HAS NO A/C. HERE IN VISTA THE WING WINDOWS ARE MY A/C. THE OUTER GRILL  IS '73 TO '77. I INSTALLED '73 TO '75 INSERTS FOR PERSONAL PREFERENCE. I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL '77 ONES IF YOU WOULD LIKE.
THIS TRUCK WAS A DRIVE TO TOWN OR TO THE BOAT RAMP A COUPLE OF TIMES A MONTH TRUCK FOR ME. IT HAS TOWED 7600 LB/W TRAILER BOAT & LAUNCHED AT RAMP TWICE. THEN A 6000 LB/W TRAILER BOAT FOR 3 YEARS.
THIS TRUCK HAS A SHIFT KIT IN THE C6 INSTALLED BY PREVIOUS OWNER WITH NO ISSUES. I HAVE INSTALLED A 3" SUPERLIFT SUSPENSION KIT ON IT AND HEADMAN FENDERWELL EXIT HEADERS. THIS TRUCK DOES PASS CALIFORNIA SMOG. WHICH I WILL GET FOR CALIF. SALE.
THE STEERING IS A BIT LOOSE.
I RECOMMEND NEW RIMS & TIRES. ALSO LOWER GEARS FOR LOTS OF TOWING. THE DASH HAS HAIRLINE CRACKS. NO PEELING. THE STEERING WHEEL HAS THE NORMAL OLD FORD CRACKS. STAGE 4 CANCER FORCES SALE

Engine: 351-M (HEADMAN HEADERS)
When the 351 Cleveland was discontinued after the 1974 model year. Ford needed another engine in that size range. since production of the 351 Windsor was not sufficient and the 390 FE was also being retired. To replace the 390. Ford took the 400 engine's tall-deck block and de-stroked it with the shorter-throw crankshaft from the 351 Windsor. and taller pistons. to produce a 351 cubic inch (5. 8 L) engine whose components were largely compatible with the 400. 351M block castings were modified to prevent cracks in the lifter area; additionally. the 351M casting contains X marks cast next to each lifter bore.
351M production began in 1975 in the Michigan Casting Center. and continued until mid-year 1978. when manufacture was transferred to the Cleveland Foundry/Cleveland Casting Plant.
The M-block. as it became known. was the last pushrod V8 block designed by Ford. The M-block also shares some elements with the Windsor engine family: bore spacing. cylinder head bolt-patterns and crankshaft journal dimensions.

Transmission: C6
The Ford C6 is a heavy-duty automatic transmission built by Ford Motor Company between 1966 and 1996. It was marketed as the "SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic" Compared to its predecessor MX transmission. the C6 offered lower weight. less complexity. less parasitic power loss. and greater torque capacity for larger engines. It did this without exceeding the packaging dimensions of the MX. These design goals were in line with those of the C4 for smaller engines. To cut down on weight and cost. the C6 featured a simple. three speed Simpson planetary gearset as well as over 10 lb (4. 5 kg) of powdered metal. To aid in shift quality and long time durability. it was the first automatic transmission designed to use the Borg-Warner flexible shift band. It had disc clutch plates instead of bands on the low and reverse gears. [1] It got new composite plates and valving. This gave it the capability to handle 475 ft-lb of torque.

Transfer Case: New Process NP205
New Process Gear of Syracuse. New York manufactured the rugged and reliable NP205 gear drive transfer case for 1969 to 1993 model year full size 4x4's. It was offered with both remote mount and direct mount configurations. Ford used left drop cases from 1973 through 1979.

Front Axle: Dana 44 Traction Lock limited slip

The Dana 44 Front axle first saw use in the 1950s and still in use today. Dana 44 Front axles were known for utilizing locking hubs or a center axle disconnect system. However. a permanently locked-in Dana 44 is not uncommon. The Dana 44 has seen use in 1/4-. 1/2-. 3/4-. and 1-ton rated trucks. The Dana 44 was manufactured in kingpin and ball joint variations. as well as closed and open knuckle variations.

Rear Axle: 9” Ford Traction Lock limited slip. the gear ratio is 3. 50:1
