Technical specifications, photos and description:
1959 MGA Coupe or FHC.
Car used only in the dryer months or in the winter where the roads are not wet. MGA underwent full nut & bolt restoration in March 2005 to April 2008.
Has now been running on 1800cc MGB Engine. gearbox and Rear diff axle for the last couple of years givin better driving in modern traffic and that extra power where required.
IN the Main advert photograph. the MGA is just awating a turn to tackle the Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb back in August 2013.
1800 B series engine. carburettors. gearbox and rear axle taken from a later MGB 1980's model. Front running gear is also MGB. Brakes. discs and callipers giving better performance and braking efficency. The car has a nice sounding Stainless Steel Exhaust System 'BELL' with electronic roter arm ignition system fitted.
Original MGA before restoration was fitted with a rather poor 1500cc gold seal replacement unit. together with front and rear drum brakes.
Car is in excellent condition and looks rather smart in it's Red & White BMC Works rally style paint work.
MGA is not original in any respect. this car was due to be broken up for parts and I feel that I have given a car that was to be destroyed a new lease of life. a livey life at that. This car is not just to be sat on show. it can be used. it wants to be driven.
Where possible the car was lightened using new fibre glass front wings. the seams. a notorius point of water collection and rust have also been taken out. The side windows and frames have also been removed to accomodate side screens (although I never got round to making any) so the windows are open all the time.
Should you require any further information regarding this MGA. please visit my website dedicated to the Restoration at www. gmsmgs. com or drop me a message for any further questions you might have.
Offers of payment will not be accepted unless car has been viewed prior to any offer made.
Viewing is essential. and can be arranged at my home address in Droitwich. WR9 9LA.
Thank you for looking.
