When MG announced a successor to the much loved T-series sports cars. there was a lot of buzz in the motor press about the new Model A. Initially offered as a pure roadster and later joined by a fixed head coupe. these little cars were popular. but lacked in overall performance. That all changed when the "Twin-Cam" design was released. With fuel fed to the engine via a pair of SU carburetors. it delivered unparalleled performance unlike anything to ever come out of the Morris Garages. Using hemispherical combustion chambers. inverted bucket-style valves and a number of other innovative developments. speeds of 110 to 115 mph were consistently reported.

While there were some early performance issues with the Twin Cam. these were sorted out and those who have driven and enjoyed these car over the years know first-hand the exhilaration that comes from pure raw power. Included in the factory package were Dunlop disc brakes on all four corners and the Dunlop peg-drive knock-off steel wheels.

Finished in Rally Red. this is one of just 220 Twin Cams produced for the 1959 model year and is even rarer still because it's an enclosed coupe. The engine has reportedly been completely gone through with the twin SU's performing as only Skinner's Union could make them do. Inspecting under the hood finds only a minimum of seepage and a very light patina of use. The interior is finished in black leather with red piping. a motif that is repeated on the door panels. All gauges are clean. clear and operational. While it is street legal and on a clear California title. it has been prepped for racing with the installation of a roll bar and competition fuel cell. plus the log book accompanies this car. Our consignor is a major fan of the MG brand and reports that this is one of his favorite cars. but now it is time for a new conservator of this fun little British sports car to enjoy the thrill of a Twin Cam.

If you are a meticulous buyer or inexperienced with classic automobiles. we recommend not buying a classic sight unseen. Spend the extra money to travel and see the vehicle. or invest $100 to have a 3rd party inspection done on the vehicle BEFORE you bid on the car. Call us ahead of time we will honestly tell you what we estimate the car will sell for on the auction and answer any questions you may have. With all do respect to all bidders. if you consider yourself a difficult buyer refrain from bidding on our vehicles and as we much rather sell a vehicle for less and have an enjoyable mutual transaction.

Car quality

It is one of the hardest jobs to convey the subjective condition of a classic vehicle through a computer. We see and inspect hundreds of potential collector cars each week and we try to convey our professional experience through our descriptions. We sell quality classics in different stages and conditions.  We post numerous pictures and give a brief description of the vehicle. Please examine those closely before deciding to bid.

We do our absolute best to describe our cars and to convey its condition to you our potential customers. but please understand classic vehicles are OLD vehicles and that they are SOLD AS-IS. WHERE-IS. It is true that our vehicles do sell for a good bargain and fantastic prices. but you are almost always going to pay for what you get. If a car sells for $5. 00. you are buying a car within that range of price; in respect to value. collectability. and condition.

In the unforeseen situation that there is a major description discrepancy (this is where the 3rd party inspection or a personal inspection is an essential tool). as a last resort a full refund. minus the cost of shipping. can be used to mutually resolve an honest possible misunderstanding. These situations are extremely rare. they are most certainly not intended and can easily be avoided.
