1972 Buick Skylark GS 455 All Matching #'s

 Ok. nbsp; First of all I'm listing this for my Brother-in-Law. he hasn't done EBAY. This car is located in SE Wisconsin. So here we go.

This is a REAL DEAL 1972 BUICK 455 GS and it is a MATCHING NUMBERS CAR IN VIRTUALLY EVERY WAY THAT MATTERS!!! NOTICE the "G" in the VIN. that was the designator for a GS in 1972. 1972 Vin started with 4G37. 1099 produced. 44 if GSX. The Engine weighs 72lbs more than the small block Chevy.   71-72 had a heavier frame less twisting 5th digit is "U" for 455 GS which is what this car is. V =Stage 1 the carburetor is original Rochester 4MV which in 1972 had a CFM 850 with jet modification which it has and was jetted to 900cfm! Look at the pics of the engine pad and you can see it matches the vin #.   I'll provide full ID to serious bidders.

He bought the car 26 years ago and took about 12 years to complete it (he is very very picky). So it has been completed for approximately 13-14 years.   So you know it was a labor of love not just turn and sell.

When he bought it it had apprx 70. 00 Original miles on it. He Zeroed out the Odometer when it was completed and has Only put 1500 miles on it since then.   It has never sat outside or been in the rain or crappy Weather since.   True Garage Queen.   Only driven in car shows.

BODY- Car was COMPLETELY disassembled down to every nut and bolt.   ALL body and Frame parts were cleaned then DIPPED and E-Coated (look at trunk). Never going to rust. Body parts replaced with ORIGINAL BUICK GM (NOT AFTERMARKET) Rear Quarters and Front Fenders back when you could still buy them from the dealer.   Doors were replaced with TOTAL RUST FREE doors from ARIZONA.   Body was E-coated as well as frame! Yes completely dipped! Every part. nut and bolt was zinc-plated for rust!
NOTICE-  It has the FACTORY ORIGINAL N25 BUMPER. Very Rare and almost impossible to find today.   This is the ORIGINAL that came on the car. All the CHROME is ORIGINAL and was RE CHROMED.

PAINT- Car was originally Dark Green w/green interior. no one wants that. It is now FIRE RED/FLAME ORANGE (as best he can remember).   It was painted at the time with GLASURIT (high quality European paint) IMRON paint (no base coat clear coat then)  Still Looks FANTASTIC.   Professional Body shop did the work. This car has NEVER been BUFFED or POLISHED.   It was perfect when he finished it. The BLACK STRIPING is also PAINTED on. not plastic. He wanted the GSX stripe on it soooo. yes we know that was not original but it sure looks Great!

INTERIOR- as stated was crappy green. Changed to Deluxe Black Interior- Again ALL Original BUICK GM Parts. not after market. Was a Bench seat Auto on Column- Now Floor Shifter/Console and Tilt Steering. All Original and Professionally installed as from the Factory.   You would not know it had been done just by looking at it.   Totally UNCUT and ORIGINAL DASH. Headliner NEW and ORIGINAL MATERIAL.

ENGINE- ALL MATCHING NUMBERS FROM the Carb to the PAN. but the Guts are Heavy Duty. nbsp; For all you GS EXPERTS this engine was built by well known BUICK car guy "Fred Catlin Buick " he actually lives or lived in Indiana. He is a famous Buick engine builder who builds drag engines and is known by any racer!  It was built to 500 HP and 520 lbs of Torque. it is Unbelievably FAST!!!!  Does all this on 93 Octane PUMP GAS.  

TRANSMISSION- MATCHING # ORIGINAL Turbo 400. rebuilt to handle the power as well. has a SWITCH PITCH conversion in it (old style launch control).

REAR DIFF-  NOT ORIGINAL!!! He put a 12 BOLT POSI out of a CHEVELLE with 4. 10 gears because it handles the power better and was 2"s Narrower than the Buick Rear end. thus giving him room for BIGGER Tires.

SUSPENSION- All rebuilt and has FACTORY Front and Rear Sway Bars.

BRAKES- Factory Front Power Disc and Rear Drum Brakes.

OPTIONS- Power Steering. Power Brakes. Tilt. Remote DS Mirror. Air Conditioning. Factory RAM AIR SYSTEM. Tachometer in dash obviously AFTERMARKET- more accurate and higher RPM reading than original. If  wanted can be bought as a NEW Reproduction with modern guts- looks exactly like factory- $200. 00.

Note about AC- Was put on all new. Was vacuum loaded but not filled with freon. should work when filled. system is the old type freon. R12 good to convert to 134a. it's all there.

That's about all I can think of for now.   I can tell you who ever buys it won't be disappointed. it is an AWESOME car.   I know my Brother-in-Law and he doesn't do anything halfway. no telling how much he spent on this car but I know he won't cut corners on anything.

And of course we know it is an OLDER restoration but it doesn't show that way. super nice.   Trunk pic shows it is just a little dusty. that's the E coat also.

Car is for sale Locally and reserve right to end auction at any time.   Will NOT stop auction when car reaches RESERVE. Would not be fair to bidders.
