1980 International Harvester Scout Traveler, 4WD, 9000 Winch

Sale price: $4,900.00 make an offer

Seller's notes: "The worst damage to the body is easily seen in the photos, the right rear quarter panel that needs minor work. The windshield has cracks, a power steering hose has a minor leak and there is an engine oil leak, and the rear wheel brake cylinders need to be replaced. Some parts are included. The clutch does have 'hard spots', but it is drivable as is. This a straight forward, detailed and honest representation, however there may be other issues unknown to me at this time."

Vehicle description as provided by the owner:

This 1980 International Harvester Scout Traveler with what I believe is approximately 132. 00 miles on the vehicle.    It is 98% cancer and rust free. and there are only a few dings. This is RARE and hard to find one of these without serious cancer and rust. and the body work can be the most expensive to correct and to do correctly. The photos should be worth a thousand words. More upon your request and on the net for all to see. This is the last year IH produced a passenger vehicle. and the Traveler is arguably the best produced by IH. nbsp;and the first SUV type. The fiberglass top is removable.

The seats are not torn or worn out!  A strong running 304ci V-8 motor doesn't burn oil and gets about 15mpg on the highway. This has the 4 speed all synchromesh manual transmission. adjustable tilt wheel. power steering. power front disc brakes. Posi-Traction type or 'limited slip' rear differential. near new LT235/75/R15 Cooper Discoverer tires and aftermarket wheels. a heavy 1/4" plate steel custom front bumper with mounted 9000lbs Ramsey winch having 100 feet of 3/8" cable with remote control. and rear with receiver hitch. It is overall in good condition. all accessories work well. except the turn indicator and horn. The motor is tight and runs great.  The transmission is smooth. tight and quiet.   The wear on the front tires is slight and evenly worn. nbsp;and indicative of a good front end. The lack of wear on the drive train is consistent with the mileage that is believed to be 132. 00 miles. nbsp;yet the 304ci gasoline motor replaced the original diesel. (which I do not have).   It has newer gas shocks. nbsp;radiator. carburetor. alternator. and brake master cylinder. The worst damage to the body is easily seen in the photos. the right rear quarter panel that needs minor work. The windshield has cracks. a power steering hose has a minor leak and there is an engine oil leak. and the rear wheel brake cylinders need to be replaced. Some parts are included. The clutch does have 'hard spots'. but it is drivable as is. This a straight forward. detailed and honest representation. however there may be other issues unknown to me at this time.  It has a Montana title that is free and clear.   The actual owner of the Scout is not the person listing the auction.   He has no knowledge about the vehicle and cannot be held responsible for my representation.   All questions about the Scout will be forwarded to myself and I will answer as promptly as possible.

Thank you for your bid's.   Scout owner.

NOTE: Photo #24 shows the only cancer known to be on the Scout.   It is camouflaged by mud and chipped finish. nbsp;and it is less than a pinky finger tip in width. and should be easy to repair.   It is the only rust on the body. nbsp;and activity on that fender.  The surrounding area is clean.
