1984 Italian-market Austin Mini. recently imported from Italy. VIN SAXXL2S1021196406
Very fun and user-friendly car. equally adept at tearing up twisty roads. commuting and getting groceries. and able to do all in classic style. Steering and suspension are tight and responsive. Carburetion is good. as are the power brakes. with discs in front and drums in rear. 45 mpg. None of my exotic motorcycles ever started so many conversations!
This car has factory left-hand drive. power disc/drum brakes and a 4-speed. 998cc carbureted motor and little else to detract from the charismatic. austere. analog experience of a Classic Mini!
There are 91523 km/54914 miles on the odometer. and the body shows an equally low degree of wear. The car is Virginia-titled and plated through January. 2015. It is a daily driver. in very good. unrestored condition. Last <4000 miles in US. Vehicle arrived in Virginia from Italy in December. 2012. Driven from Virginia to Nevada in March. 2013. running hot at sustained 65+mph. but with no other problems.  Cooling system recently passed leak test and flushed. It's running dramatically cooler now. but. hey. it's also winter in NV.  Gearbox (w/used unit). clutch. front-end suspension bushings. alternator. fuse box. wires and spark plugs replaced Spring. 2012 as part of an exhaustive. engine-out repair occasioned by failing gearbox. Heater core. reversing-light switch. wiper switch and washer fluid reservoir recently replaced. Interior apparently original and in good to fair condition. with rear upholstery cards warped and fitting poorly. Some surface rust in places (treated with rust-arrestor). but no major corrosion. with intact. original floor panels. Currently running Lucas oil-leak-ending product. in order to minimize or end leaks from engine/transmission and differential. Windshield washer fluid not currently spraying; motor at reservoir possibly troubled.
