Here is the story behind it. Ive always wanted a Subaru Diesel but they aren't offered in the USA for some bureaucratic reason. Years passed before I saved up enough to try to fulfill the dream but I knew that a donor car would be needed. Hurricane season rolled around and hit the texas area pretty hard flooding a pretty white forester with 37k on the clock in its aftermath. The car ran and drove but nobody wants a flooded drivetrain so I realized I was pretty close to getting that dream car. I knew that there was a seller in texas that was selling a front clip of a same model JDM forester with a diesel in it so I bought both. Crazy right? But it all worked out! So I swapped the engine and transmission and a whole lot more. Generally the worst things to hate water are electronics and motors so almost everything was swapped out. Im talking complete down to the frame swap of components. She has a new 700mi 2.0L diesel engine, transmission, front and rear differential, front and rear sub frames complete with JDM diesel spec brakes and stiffer gas filled shocks, underhood wiring is swapped as is the dash wiring along with cab and door wiring, a fresh set of seats pulled from another forester, the JDM subaru had power lift gate so that was installed as well. The only electronics not swapped is the window motors in the doors and the sunroof motor all of which work perfectly. The car runs and drives well however she does have a rough idle sometimes and I haven't got the remote programmed to open the car keylessly so that still needs work. It's got a dpf light on the dash that also needs to be looked at. AWD works flawlessly(tested on a wet incline of my front lawn. The vehicle is currently titled in missouri with the title in my hand and i didn't have without any problems. If you are a true Subaru fan this is the vehicle to have. My priorities have changed and I've ran out of free time and so its time to let her go, I just got married and could really use some cash so send me your reasonable offers, who knows maybe I will accept it.
