On Dec-03-21 at 06:57:40 PST, seller added the following information:

Here is more info on the original engine, from Mike's Diary  in 356Registry Issue July/August 2009 valume 32 number 3 " In 1961 I bought a wrecked 1960 Roadster with 11,000 on it.The wrecked car had a Super engine whereas the engine in the Speedster was a Normal with about 110,000 miles on it.Thus, the first of several engine swaps was made to the Speedster. I intended keeping the Normal as a spare but a local shop made me too good an offer so the Speedster'soriginal engine went bye-bye,to replace the blown engine in another black '  58 Speedster. The disposition of the original engine will likely prevent any future owner of the Speedster ( highly unlikely situation ) from having a "numbers matching" car.A couple of years later  I spotted a black Speedster in a used car lot. I stopped to look it over  and was surprised to see my original engine ,68888. Is it still out there? "
