This car is in excellent condition throughout and does not exhibit anything like the usual wear & tear associated with this high a mileage. The bodywork is in excellent condition with no rust. Mechanically sound - the engine sounds and pulls as it should. no transmission issues. suspension is tight and steering is precise. The leather interior is also excellent and shows only slight wear. with no rips. tears or scuffs. The electric seats are fully working except for one function on the passenger seat. The only other things not working are the rear-offside electric window (fault unknown) and the headlight wipers (motors appear seized). Air conditioning blows ice-cold.

I'm selling this car on behalf of my father. a BMW enthusiast. who owned the car since 1996. having wanted one since they came out. The car has been garaged and only used in good weather (plus family summer holidays up till 2004) and as such has only covered 29k miles since he bought it. In 2004 he got a newer 5 series which he used for long holiday journeys. so the M6 was used more rarely (and only in good weather). He has decided to sell as it doesn't get the use it deserves and is one of four cars he currently owns.

There are a large number of invoices from the original sale to its most recent Inspection (at 180k miles on 25/10/04). All Inspections and remedial work carried out by BMW main dealers and service history book stamped to this date by main dealers. One invoice of note covers some fairly extensive engine work; the main items of work carried out were timing chain replacement. including removing and reinstalling engine. replacement of cylinder head gasket. replacement of clutch disc and drive plate all carried out by BMW main dealer at 154k miles. the total for this work was £2016. Since the last service carried out by BMW. the car has been maintained privately by my father. including regular coolant and oil changes and checks of transmission fluid levels.
