Available for purchase... our very original 1966 Pontiac Ventura Sedan. Starlight Black over blue. A blast to drive, and I would trust the car to run cross country today. The Ventura was essentially a higher trim Catalina, but ran as its own model for 1966. Similar within the Pontiac brand to the Bonneville and the Catalina, and within GM to the Chevrolet Impala, and Oldsmobile and Buick models as well. The car is a 389 V8, 2 barrel, with a Turbo Hydromatic 400. This is an AC car, and the air was blowing cold earlier this summer. The compressor has developed a leak, and the expansion valve was being temperamental as well. I have a newly rebuilt compressor, an expansion valve, and a drier to go with the car. There's no rust problem with this car, and never really has been. A couple small rust repairs were made a few years ago, low in the fenders and possibly also the quarter panels behind the wheels. There may be a speck here or there, but it's just never really been a big problem for this one. We have $17,000 or so in the car over the last 2 years, including a $3,000 service a few weeks ago. Receipts available. Most of the pictures are the car in its current form. Ventura trim included rear fender skirts, full wheel covers, and white wall tires. The last two exterior pictures show the car "fully dressed" about 2 years ago. The deluxe wheel covers and skirts are still with the car, and included of course. Those tires were roughly 30 years old, so if the white wall look is your preference, tires would need to be purchased. The car is very nearly bone stock. Other than reinstalling the full wheel covers and skirts with a set of white walls, the (self adhesive) 389 emblems on the front fenders would need to be removed. The exhaust was custom made by a local shop, and the general consensus is that it sounds great, but it's definitely not as quiet as the car would have been. From the factory, these full size cars were nearly silent. Here's a partial list of what's been done within the last 2 years:$569 tires$360 exhaust$289 windshield$250 windshield installation$38 reverse light lenses$18 transmission mount$1248 brakes and alignment$981 brakes and radiator$280 poverty hubcaps$296 water pump$125 seatbelts$85 trunk mat$30 voltage regulator$135 headlights$69 emergency brake repair$182 timing gear set$3074 timing set installation, oil pump, plugs, points ETC.I believe the ownership history of this car to be known all the way back to 1966, including over 40 years of ownership by one gentleman, from 1968 until 2011.Please ask any and all questions. I'll respond promptly and honestly. I've been on eBay many years, and have bought and sold cars multiple times with no disappointments. In fact, 6 or 7 of my last 200 positive feedback ratings as a seller are for automobiles. I strongly encourage seeing the car in person if you are able to do so. This is certainly not a perfect car, but a fun driver that always starts conversations. Overall, I would say the condition of the car is probably an 8 on the 10 scale, but condition is very subjective. We wanted a car that we could use with 4 kids and enjoy, but not live in constant fear of a new chip or ding.If I were to keep the car another year, I would install the new air conditioning components and charge the system, replace some weather stripping (trunk and window sweeps primarily), and maybe do something about the fact that there is no music. The original AM radio is in place. Not sure if it works, but I don't think there's a speaker anywhere in the car.I'm an aboveboard guy. My preference would be to exchange cash for a notarized title and the car, locally, within 7 days of the sale. That said, I'm also realistic. If distance makes that impossible, a wire transfer processed within 7 days would be acceptable. After that wire transfer has an additional week to cure, I could mail the title, and the car could be picked up within a couple of weeks to accommodate your schedule (or that of your transporter). Basically, if you wouldn't be planning to be here to pick the car up in person within the first week, communicate in advance and we'll see what we can work out. The $500 deposit is non-refundable and due within 24 hours.Obviously, the car is sold as is, and where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. The mileage listed is what's shown on the odometer. It's actually currently slightly less than where I listed it, but will continue to go up until the listing ends, as I do use the car a few times a week. I have reasons to believe that it's accurate, including the fact that the tires on the car when I bought it were decades old, that we cut off the original exhaust around 2 years ago, and that the car essentially never left it's original county of residence until I drove it to Raleigh 2 years ago. Obviously, that said, as with any vehicle of this age, the car is being sold as true miles unknown.Thank You for looking, and have a great day.~ Rob.
